Default Help Decide which Hood: LG or BlackDogSpeedShop

I am going to purchase one of these two hoods.

Please help me decide, as the cost and performance of each are almost identical.

Looking for your opinion on which one will maintain it's integrity over the next 30 years of street driving/HPDE's. Only plan on making this purchase once in my life.

Thanks!

I can't comment on the Black Dog however I have two of the LG(race style) and the finish has been very good on both.

isn't the LG hood better in that it has the venting over the wheel wells? cut the top of the wheel wells and the air will carry out thru the hood?

Neither one will vent out of the wheel well. To do that you would need to vent the fenders, seal the fender liners.....a bit more work than just adding the hood.

We do offer additional vents over the top of the exhaust to catch some of the air blowing up around the cradle and vent more than just what is coming from the radiator area.

If you have any questions about our C6 hoods, I wold be more than happy to help though!

Nothing but good things to say about LG. But I have the Blackdog hood in a racing finish...ultra light, and no interior bracing or hinge support. The fit and exterior finish was perfect, even though I asked them to make it in fiberglass and they had never done so before. They were very accomodating to what I wanted. Also, I LOVE the look of the hood. LGs is similar in style, but the louvers are just a bit better looking on the Blackdog one IMHO...

Can't go wrong with either... It would come down to how much you wanna spend.
