Default drain fuel tank?

I need to dump the 1/2 tank or so I have in the car. I had thought I could open the schrader valve on the fuel rail and kick the ignition on and pump the fuel out - but the pump runs for just a sec or two, not continuously until pressurized like I had assumed.

Any easy way to drain without resorting to a siphon?

Stick a wire in the fuel pump relay holes... costs nothing.

Make sure the wire isn't too big or you will be buying a new relay box.. Trust me... I know!
