Default Rear Tow hook for a grand sport....

I have been thinking of adding one in case I have an off track excursion...

I was looking at the models made by VMS racing...

1 says "For Z06 and ZR1 only, does not fit grand sport"

the other says "Base c6 only, does not fit Z06 or Grand sports..."

SO which fits the grand sport, or are they unicorns?

Thanks

I have to say that I don't know the answer....but, there are differences between the Aluminum Z06 frame and the steel frame that is in your car and the base car. I don't know what all of those differences are....I would recommend calling Joe and Phoenix Performance, because he will know (and he sells excellent tow rings).

I would think you want the base C6 tow hook. I think the only difference is where the mounting holes are located.

Not sure which one I have on my Z but it bolts in right at the same place the muffler brackets for the two inside mufflers bolt to. A huge PIA to install unless you remove the lower part of the rear fascia. It can be done without removing it but you will re-familiarize your self with your favorite cuss words.

Thanks bill

I'm all too familiar with those mounting points. The only positive on this particular install if that I have corsa xtremes, and they have a smaller canister... Still going to be cussing enough to make a sailor proud, but....

Well, I grabbed a Z06 VIS racing tow hook and no dice, the holes are about 1/2" too short. So guess I will have to call joe...

On a good note, with the corse extremes and my gearwrench, I was easily able to get to the mounting bolts.... only to realize its a no go...

Joe A made this for my C6z because my BB Exhaust was to close for a standard hook. It screws in like his front removable tow hook. Disappointed to hear it probably won't fit my GS.

Anybody ever used the strap style instead of the metal tow hooks? Seems like a cheap and easy option. I was looking at a few on the web, sparco makes one that's only $15 each. How would one of these work?
