Running Nitto 555RII's? Step inside....
In an effort to equalize tire wear, I am contemplating running my Nitto 555RII's in reverse of the sidewall markings. I have no concerns about wet weather traction due to tread configuration and there is less than 4/32's of tread left so this is not a factor anyway.
I'm aware that many other R comp tires can be reversed with zero issues, and I've done this with other R comps, but Nitto tech support will not tell me if this is okay from a belt construction standpoint. The're standard CYA reply is to run the tires in the correct direction.
I run a 285/35-18 square setup on a C5Z with an aggressive track alignment and T1 bars. If I could flip the tires/rims from side to side this would open up options that would not require a mount/dismount simply to comply with the sidewall direction markings.
Please keep your replies specific to the Nitto R comps....
