Default Which Rim and tire combo of mine to run at Sebring this year...

Ok, So I am going back to Sebring twice in the next 2 months or so. Debating which wheel and tire setup to run, and looking for advice....

My history- Started doing this back in August, then turned to Autocross, and autocross 3x month. I am " quick", and pretty confident behind the wheel overall. I really like the sebring layout.

Here is whats in my arsenal currently(2011 Grand Sport):

18" CCw with 315/345 A6's (these are my autocross setup)

Factory 18/19 Grandsport Rims with Pilot Super Sports (non run flat of course)

Aftermarket OZ Ultraleggaro's 19/20 setup with Invo fronts, Pirelli Corsa Rears

4th Possible option: Bite the bullet and order some scrub R6 or other version for the CCW's.

Thoughts?

My last time at sebring was in my Boss mustang running the Pilot Super Sports. Had a good time, and didn't have any complaints...

Thanks for the insight

A'6's work fine for me at Sebring especially in the cooler weather.

Run Continental's scrubs from GT tire, they will be at the 12 hour collecting them, Todd is going to pick me out a couple of diamonds lol. I run the 305/660R18 and 325/680R18 on my Z06.

The Pilot Super Sports will do a great job for you. Should get you into the mid to high 2:30s but used slicks will get you very close to the 2:20s.

Thanks,
I'm going to take both sets with me(PsS and ccws), but I think I'm going to run the ccws

My fiest choice would be the scrub slicks, and then as others have mentioned the A6, but all on the 18" wheels.

If it's a track day it won't make any difference. Besides the track is so beat up and has so many different types of pavement nothing matters. Coming down the back straight I wonder why I even balance my tires. In Turn 17 you just bounce around.

Porsche and Audi have been testing their LMP1 cars at Sebring all this week. Even though they won't be racing in the states they still love to test at Sebring. They consider it the toughest track in the world. If it can be broken you'll break it at Sebring.

Richard, I take issue with "bounce around". This is the only corner where I "Porpoise" and ALL the other cars, including R8 etc do also
