Installed LG Carbon Fiber Hood today!
Feels like its about half the weight of the stock hood. Didn't measure it.
Took 3 hours to align it right, but it's just about perfect. Had to adjust all 4 bolts on main hood hinge, and the latches in the back up and down, but it all came together.
Looks 1,000 times better in person...on the internet the pictures look pretty cheesy, but in person...holy crap!
Leaving it bare carbon to match my front splitter and rear spoiler.
Super happy with the purchase....LG made a superb product!!!!

looks awesome! I believe that with venting the helps the engine run much cooler? would be great if you can post up some real-life comparison before/after stats on your coolant and oil temps, especially at the track (if you track your Z that is)!

Your hood looks great. L.G. Motorsports sells 1st class items. What did your hood weigh once it was painted?

Nice work!
It is very hard to get a good picture of the hood. Black cars and white cars are probably the hardest to shoot and get any kind of feel for the carbon weave on it.
Thanks again for choosing LG Motorsports!

On the highway...coolant temps stayed at 172 degrees at 75mph.....65 degrees and sunny in Atlanta.....oil temp maxed at 202. Normally saw about 185 to 190 coolant and 210 to 215 oil.
So great improvement at just 75mph.
Constant heat waves pouring out of hood.
Should be great for HPDE....wont do another track day until April 2015 at the new corvette museum motorsports park. So this year in order to afford the hood...i skipped my track day for the year.
Its not cheap!

Probably cheaper for the driver to lose 10lbs than pay thousands for the car to lose 10lbs.

You could have just raised up your hood latches (they have lots of adjustment) instead of using the spacer on the striker...would have been free.
Anyway, I'm sure the guys from LG will say that breaking the seal on the back of the hood at the base of the windshield is a no-no for high speeds (120mph+). The high pressure area will allow air to rush into the engine compartment and get trapped, thus increasing air pressure, and producing lift.
So for driving on the streets, you would not have an issue...but driving at 140mph+, I bet you would have some issues.
Anyway, to each his own.
I waited 3 years for "approval" to get this hood, if you know what I mean, plus it looks bad-*** in person! I have not seen this hood in person on any other car. I have seen plenty of the original World Challenge Hood with the wider center vents, but not this one. So for me, in what I do, and where I live, it's very unique.

No issues.....just stating my thoughts.
My personal experience at 140mph on the back straight at Road Atlanta made the front end very light to the point where i had little confidence in keeping the car in control over the small hump in the curve just before going downhill into turn 10a. This hood will solve that problem.

Proved in the wind tunnel as well, even speeds as low as 70 mph you start to see lift on the car because of the air coming in on the back side of the hood.
As hard as it is to add front downforce to balance out a Corvette on track, no way would I try and just pop the back of the hood open unless it was a matter of the car over heating on track.

OP, very nice... I was over that very hood at LG's website the other day. I might wind up popping for the fiberglass version, still on the fence but am looking for some type of hood venting mainly for cooling (track) with the aero improvement as a side benefit.
LOL at the comment on the driver being the most cost effective place to lose weight... can even save money on food
