Default Wheel spacer question

Does anyone know if 2 inch wheel spacer front and rear would significantly affect the handling of a Corvette c5 suspension?
Does anyone know who I might be able to ask?
I'm building a 1967 c10 pickup truck with a complete c5 suspension under it... My problem is is that I need to space the wheels out between an inch and a half and two inches per side, at all four corners. I intend to road race this truck and that's what drives the concerns about what effect these spacers will have. I have thought about new wheels, with different backspacing, but that in effect would do the same as running spacers...I THINK!
Any knowledgeable help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jimmy

You will increase scrub with spacers so, yes, the handling will be effected.

I'm no engineer! but some things you may want to consider. I think that setup would put a lot of stress on the hub and studs, can you even get studs that long? I know when I was using spacers on my C6Z, the guys at CCW said half inch was the max they recommended. Some of the guys building race chassis should be able to help you!!! They do this sort of thing all the time. Just my .02 JD

Talk to John at CCW and see what he recommends for a wheel. I sort of doubt you can go as wide as you want without sacrificing durability and safety.

Thank you gentlemen for the input! Found some interesting info while searching rim offsets...seems the 12" Z06 rears have a +58 offset which gets me where I need to be. My thoughts now are...if GM ran a 10" Gumby rim at +79 and the 12" Z06 rim at +58 on the same spindle setup, which amounts to .8" difference in wheel centers, maybe I am safe as well! Wish I knew more about this!
