One of our sponsors, KNS, sells the DBA rotors for great prices. Like many of our members I track my C5 quite a lot. The DBA rotors have outlasted the stock GM, made in Mexico, rotors by more than double, for me specifically. The rotors made in China have not lasted as well as the ones made in Mexico for my purposes. The stock rotors develop cracks much sooner than the DBAs, in my experience. I have been running one set of DBA rears all season. Stock tended to last about 3 weekends.

I'm on my first set of DBA rotors and will be going with these in the future instead of the centrics for the reasons mentioned above.

The KNS DBA 4K rotors are the sweet spot for single piece rotors right now since the stock of Brembo XLR rotors dried up. They're just under $240 shipped for the whole car set.

If you're looking for two piece, Mark's rotors above are a work of art.

Contrary to popular beliefs here are no Rotors made in the USA any longer, its either China or Great Briton, I went with the later EBC slotted and dimpled and have had no problems.I understand that their is a new foundry being built in Australia but haven't confirmed that.

This year there was a foundry opened and running in the US, Brembo I think but don't remember.

But there is a brake rotor foundry in the US.

Default Rotors

The DBA C5 rotor weighs 22lbs. Properly seasoned they last a long time. I ran them on a 4,350 pound whale for years and got a season or more out of each set.

Which rotor? What do you constitute "a season"?

Default Impala on C5 Brakes

In a year 8-10 track days. Typically 200 miles in a 3-day weekend at VIR. Two day event would rack up 120 to 150 miles. Plus about 2,000 miles a year street driving. XP-10 in front and XP-8 on rear. Rotors are DBA one piece rotors. Their stock replacement for a C5. I have them clocked and drilled 5 X 5 for the Impala.

Rebuild the brakes every winter so I can start with new pads and rotors and not have to work on the car at the track. Front rotors will have some small cracks when changed but could have been run longer. One thing that I believe helps is to drive around for 10 minutes or so after each track session and let the brakes cool down.

One set of XP10 last you 8-10 days in that car? Or just the rotors?

Yes one set of pads and rotors. You can run the Carbotech pads right down to the nubbins and I drive to save the brakes as much as possible.

When you wear out the rotor on a two-piece rotor, can you send them back to the mfg to have a new rotor fitted to the hat?

Rotor prep is just as important as the brand name. Ok, more important.

You can't just take rotors out of the box and expect to have optimum braking.

Brake Rotor Prep.

Usually you buy the ring and a fastener set, then remove the old ring from hat and bolt on the new one.

I've been shocked at how well the DBA 4000's have held up. Mine have about 20 track days on them and they are not done. Using Hawk DTC-70 pads which last 5-6 days depending on track.

I agree, Mark's rotors are a work of art. They're essentially a better version of the DBA5000
