And while you are at it:

Front brake ducts.
It's the best $200.00 I ever spent it's helps components last much lnoger. No more burned boots, better "hot" braking, and it even blows a lot of the dust off! IMO they pay for themselves in 1 track day.

Re: What are the best rotors available for stock C5 brakes? (Richin Chicago)
Gentlemen....
I race Wheel to Wheel, 1/2 hr races, and 1 hr races. I have a 95 Pontiac Formula. I'm putting C5 front rotors on it.
The 2 rotors I have are:
1X212940
1x212941
Please note they are the thicker GM Perf Parts rotor part nos.
I have the largest duct inlets I could find, which each have 40 or 50 sq in. of intake, mounted on the air dam at the outboard ends, each feeding a 3" hi temp silicone hose, going to NASCAR spindle ducts which were modified and attached to the hubs, forcing the air thru the center of the rotor and out the vanes.
Is there anything better out there I can buy for my 2nd set of rotors? I like to always have extra rotors and pads ready.
thanks

Gary -
Where are you getting a full set of rotors for $210? The local dealer wants $98/corner.

David,
Go to your local dealer's parts manager and explain to him that he can have your business at the same price (with tax) that gmpartsdirect provides the parts (with shipping) or he can lose the business and not make any money at all. He can get the parts for the same price as any other GM dealer so he can afford to sell at the lower price and still make a profit. Once you get a relationship set up with him you will be further ahead on all your parts purchases.

If you want The Best rotors for stock calipers, then I'm partial to these. However if by best you actually mean cheapest then I'm not you man. For Sale thread here:

I like using the Centric premiums since the center hats are painted and won't rust (dual purpose car).
This likely won't matter if you're using them for strictly track use. Centric has some VERY reasonably priced options that are not painted. Check out rockauto for the part numbers and then cross-search with Amazon. I got mine with Prime for cheaper and faster than rock auto had them (though not by much).

About 1lb each, but weight savings aren't really the point. Rotors (DBA5000) that last forever, no vibration in the pedal, eliminating pad knock back, and better heat dissipation are some of the main reasons to go with a rotor like this. I'll happily admit if a set of centric rotors lasts you a season then you don't need these. If they last you 3 hours then this is a solution.
