Default C5 Sharkbar now available

For those folks that have had a hard time finding a Sparco harness bar and/or wishing Dan would start building Sharkbars for C5 applications you are in luck. I've been in touch with him off and on for the past couple of months and he's finally got a C5 Sharkbar design ready for production. He tells me this is based on the old Sparco/Speedware design, but with some of his own enhancements. The nice thing about this design is that it will sit low enough to get proper belt angle when using a HANS, which is why I ordered up one earlier today. Check out the VetteWorks website for more info and some pics.

Is the Sparco unit no longer made, or just hard to find inventory?

Anyone have advice on pro/cons of this style vs. the Brey-Krause? Are seat choices or mounting rails affected?

Thanks!

Tim

From the pictures it looks like this one has anti rotation bars that tie into the rear seat mounts.

Speedware Motorsports (technically it was their subsidiary called SeatFab, which was housed in the same building) here in Redmond, WA, used to build the harness bars for Sparco, but they've closed up shop. I don't want to speak for Dan, but I believe this is why he has started building his own Sharkbar version of the design now.

I'm just curious why a copied design and a couple of tubes cost $500.

Probably because the only other one on the market is $485
