Default Formula One - Russia - TV Schedule

=====================================
Formula One - RUSSIA Schedule on NBC Sports Network
=====================================

THE TIMES AND DAYS FOR THIS RACE ARE DIFFERENT, SO PAY ATTENTION!

THERE ARE THREE SHOWINGS OF THE RACE.

THERE ARE TWO SHOWINGS OF QUALIFYING.

THERE ARE TWO SHOWINGS OF PRACTICE(P2).

ALL SHOWINGS ARE ON NBC SPORTSNET THIS WEEKEND.

The PRE-RACE show is integrated into the schedule for the race.

The post-race show "F1 Extra" is shown immediately after the race show
whatever time that may be. NBC schedules "F1 Extra" to start 2 hours after
the start of the race but, in reality, it's always shown immediately after the race
irregardless of the clock. The simplest way to make sure you record "F1 Extra" is
simply to add enough extra time to the race broadcast recording to get (a) any
extra time that was needed to record the entire race including any delays, and
(b) "F1 Extra". My standard is to add at least three hours (!) just to make
sure I cover most eventualities.

I pull this info from from my Tivo's schedule. I have no guarantee that
it is correct but it usually is. I also double check it with the NBC Sports
NET schedule.

I wonder if Putin is going to show. Maybe riding a white horse with no shirt on. Or in a T80 tank.

He's going to be there with his "good friend" Bernie.

Wouldn't shock me if Putin races a 3rd mercedes and laps the field.

Just watched Russia, hope Austin is more exciting.

More video of Nico working his way thru was probably pretty good, if it had been shown.

Yeah, this was expected/predicted. Once it became clear that the tires could possibly last an entire race and then they slowed the pit speed to 60 km/hr (37 mph) and made the pit stop delta ~24 seconds, they eliminated a lot of possible strategy calls. That's why the first lap was such a free-for-all - they knew that pretty much any gains you wanted to make (and keep) had to happen then. Next year should be different in this regard as Pirelli will have learned not to be so conservative.

As for the venue, while they certainly constructed a nice track, I think I have to agree with Kate Walker (someone I normally find pretty annoying and/or goofy) in this bit she wrote for espnf1.com:

http://en.espnf1.com/blogs/motorsport/story/179131.html

I'll bet the crowds are smaller next year and smaller yet the next.

They want to call this "Russia's Monaco". Yeah. Sure Give me a call when the F1 tour people are offering THIS option for Sochi:

http://www.gptours.com/f1/Monaco-Grand-Prix/N/

Note the price (per person!) and note that this is for the 2015 race and it's already sold out (!!!)

Or this one:
http://www.gptours.com/Monaco-Le-Ponant/

which also sells out every year.

I'm betting that "Lifestyles Of The Rich and Famous" won't be planning coverage of Sochi F1 races any time soon..

You have to give Bernie credit - he sure had everyone well-rehearsed on their talking points. "Mmmmmm! Mockolate!"

It would not surprise me if the tickets were deeply discounted if not passed out. And the "staging" of Putin/Ecclestone I think each one was playing the other for the personal "benefits" to be had.

Both masters at their craft.

Pray that Austin is a RACE.

It seemed to me that they had a fair amount of seating. As we watched the race we made a point of analyzing the crowd size and it seemed decent.

The Russian news folks say the crowd was 65,000. Maybe, but I wouldn't invest toooo much money on the words of any Russian "news" agency (or Bernie's gang, either, for that matter.) But I didn't get the sense that it was empty (like Turkey used to be. Or Korea. Or China.)

Guess I'm used to tracks where the stands form almost a tunnel
