That's a business move... helps to show folks I've got some clue and not just a dude with a computer and password.

I was just kidding you about you know, having a pic of a C6Z up there but thinking C5Z instead.

Since I have a C5Z also I'm easily confused.
That one has the original engine, 249,101 miles, and set the NCCC ISJ track record at Roebling last November.

Got the business move. Yup, lots of dudes with computers

Which Hankook? RS3 or the Ventus V12 EVO?

For track use, I prefer the Rivals to RS3s which seem to overheat quickly in my hands. Last year, I used a 275/295 stagger on 18's but got some pretty terrible understeer. Anyone run a square 295 Rival set up?

Also noticed that Tire Rack seems to routinely run out of this size.

When this size tire becomes available, as with all the Rivals and Rival S, we will be offering FREE SHIPPING!!

BFG should be making an announcement in FEB sometime....

Heckuva deal! Thanks Phil!

PS
Can't wait for the upcoming announcement... and I've got my fingers crossed that I can score tires for the 3/15 Nat Tour.

I really appreciate the information on this thread. In the chump car series we are also limited to 200tw tires. I really liked the old Star Specs. Couldn't get the new version so we went to the Rivals. They are ok, but seem to get hard quickly which is not good in 7 to 12 hour races. any additional recommendations, especially for endurance racing is greatly appreciated. Jerry

I can't say that I've seen the same thing in LeChump WRT Rivals getting hard during the race. That being said, my gripe with them in that application (on a low HP FWD car) is that they've got enough grip that you can bind up the car if you're not careful. The old Star Spec was better in that regard but also has lower peak limits.

If you're not a fan of the Rival, I'd give the new Z2 Star Spec a try. I haven't been on track with them but, based on feedback from the team I run with, they're much improved over the prior Z2 and are like a grippier/better prior Gen Star Spec.

Hankook Ventus R-S3
Kumho Ecsta XS
Toyo Proxes R1R
Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R
Mich pss

I understand different temps and surfaces may change things but I guess

1) for rain
2) hot dry concrete
3) hot dry asphalt track days
4) cold dry concrete

Are the relative parameters.

C5z sizes and 335+ 18 or 19 sizes

I'll try to post notes as I get or make them but would love any input here from others.
Im not familiar with C5 sizing, but the Pilot sport cup 2 is 200tw...

I appreciate that feedback. We are running a Gen 3 camaro, so a fairly heavy v8 powered rear wheel drive car. Jerry

Not according to TireRack: 180TW across the board. Its also only available in one 18" size, and nothing smaller.

I believe that list has always been the list of tires they want to build but all of them are not available hence there is no price in the MSRP row of information.

Yep, you seem to be correct. Emailed a BFG rep and already got a response. No 19's for the reasons I've given before. Wide 19's and 20's are Michelin's area and they own BFG.

Which sucks because obviously the Super Sports aren't on par with the Rivals when it comes to auto-x.

Hankook has some decently wide 19/20 sizes. Granted, they're mostly out of stock at the moment but it's not like you can get Rivals anyway.
