Default Rival-S on stock size C6 coupe/C7 base wheels?

So, sorry if it's a dumb question, but is there a Rival-S size that can be mounted on stock size C6 coupe/C7 base wheels? (Already have the wheels, been running PSS..)

Thanks.

Anyone tried the Kumho V720 in the 265/305 sizes?

I don't think they have a 19" tire but you can get the RE71R in those sizes.

practicing a little thread necromancy here:

Has anyone tried the 305/30/19 RE-71R yet? any thoughts on using this vs the rivals in 335/18?

I corded one of my Hoosier A6's at my last event of the season so it's time for a new set of autocross slicks. Been looking at the BFG Rival S for my '93 C4 in 275/40-17. The TR has a few left in that size but I was curious if anyone knows if BFG will be improving the tire over the winter? Or raising the price....

I'm thinking about getting a set now and having them heat cycled and I can have them mounted and ready to go for next year.

Oops, meant to say BFG Rival R1-S not the Rival S. Apparently BFG doesn't offer a 275/40-17 Rival S. And I don't really want to go out and buy a set of 18" wheels.

I used the 305/30/19 Kumho V720 in the rear with a 315 Rival S in the front. I did this because the 315 Rival S I had in the rear was worn out and I couldn't find any. The Kumho V720 is surprisingly sticky, with a stiffer sidewall than the Rival S. I do think the Rival S has a SLIGHTLY stickier compound. When BFG brings out the stiffer sidewall next year, I think I will go back to Rival S, but for now, and for the price, the Kumho works great, very similar to a RE-71R in feel.

BFG is only updating the construction for tires 255mm wide and below (3-rib). So 275/315/335 will not be updated.

So let's make the smaller cars go faster and leave us stranded.

Not really. BFG is already the standard in the large sizes but they are behind Bridgestone a bit in the 3-rib sizes.

So because they updated the smaller tires this year you are sure they won't upgrade the larger next year? Seems weird to leave a faster tire on the table and make two different tires under the same name yes?

All sizes already have unique construction "recipes" so they are not two different tires. The smaller sizes just are now "rev B."
