Default Swapping FRC trunk for hatch?

Since the car is being buttoned together soon. I was wondering if there was any reason to keep my C5Z configuration. Instead of swapping to the more aerodynamically efficient hatchback rear? I'm already running lexan in the rear, so I think the weight difference would be minimal.

Anyone reason NOT to do it?

Thanks!

I looked into this when I had to repair rear end damage. Only negatives I can think of are time, effort, and money. The coupe uses a different rear tub from the C5Z. The tubs are bonded to the frame, so it's a bit more work to rip it out, chip off the old urethane, and align the new tub on install. I believe the coupe also uses different rear fenders.

Coupes are ugly, and common. That's reason enough.

This is exactly what I needed to know. I didn't realize there were so many differences. I figured it was a more simple procedure. Sounds like a project for next year's off-season.

There's a reason the C5R used the hatch, and your comment completely missed it...
