Default 2015 Rolex 24 (Spoiler)

Figured we can use this to discuss the race, and added the spoiler for those that don't want to know until later.

GTLM qualifying just finished with the Corvettes #1 and #5.

Interesting that they drafted each other for their best laps. Haven't seen much of that in qualifying yet, wonder if other teams will start doing it. I suspect it doesn't matter as much (and is harder to do) with tracks that aren't Daytona with the long straights.

The #4 was faster than the #3, so hopefully whatever problems the #4 had last year is solved for this year.

Field seems pretty even for good BoP except for the Porsches which were in the last 3 spots.

45 minutes in and it is way too early to determine anything, but the Corvettes look strong running 1st and 3rd. The factory Porsche looks really strong. the 912 lost 6 laps with an electrical problem, but the 911 is all the way up to second from qualifying 7th this quickly.

Most importantly, at this early stage, the TV coverage looks like a big step up from last year, hopefully that continues.

This is blacked out part of the time (use a service like a VPN or other to make it look like you have a non-US IP in that case),

14.5 hours in:

#3 with Magnussen running 1st in class and 7th overall.
#4 with Milner running 3rd in class and 9th overall.

At about the 12.5 or 13 hour mark, the #4 had to pit for a potential problem during a caution and suffered a penalty (pit lanes weren't open during that caution). Still trying to catch up, but doing well.

And Milner just ran into the back of a P1or Pc car on the restart while leading with 3 hours to go. Now in the pits to replace the whole nose.

Still could get a podium as the 4th place is 24 laps back.

Drive smart boys!

That hurts. It was a p1 car...not sure why it didn't accelerate onto the straight. On the road tommy would have been found totally at fault for the rearender, on the track, i think there is some assumption professional drivers do what they are supposed to...

Looks like a BMW Corvette battle for the win.

Solid podiums if they stay clean. #4 needs some more of those obnoxious yellows

So after that yellow with 3 hours to go, Mags put 48+ seconds between him and the BMW. Now after a pit w/ driver change, he's only 10 seconds back. Will be interesting to see Garcia pull the BMW back in and pass him.

#3 car just lapped the #4 car, so I guess the 4 is not as good as it was before the wreck.

That or the #4 is 4 (now 5) laps out of 2nd and 20 (now 19) ahead of 4th, so the message was to just bring it home in one piece.

The #3 is is fighting for the lead.

By the way, according to Tommy Milner's tweets, it looks like the P car in front of him got loose and on Cold tires, The #4 couldn't do anything to avoid it, which is a little better than what I wrote above.

The following in-car camera showed that he P1 car got loose under acceleration and lifted.................Milner didn't!

Yea, that actually makes more sense.

Still sticking pins in my BMW voodoo doll.
