Default Homemade undertray

Im just about finished making my foam "plugs" for the brake ducts

Ill wet lay and vac. bag them in carbon then melt the foam with acetone once cured.

Before I begin making the undertray I have some questions.
1 Will the alumalite strengthen the carbon splitter if i run it all the way forward in between the current ARP vII splitter/undertray and butt it in the front with a piece of rubber weatherstrip?
2 Should I run the UT all the way to the cradle or stop it at the back of the rad? I would think that without a vented hood that would hurt cooling.
3 What are the best/easy places to brace the UT to? Im thinking of bolting it directly to the "scraper" bars on the rad shroud but I think itll need more bracing more towards the front of the splitter and on the sides. Id like to avoid those turnbuckle type of braces on the outside edge of the splitter if possible.
Any advice or pictures would be helpful

Should I run the under tray back to the cradle? Will that hurt cooling?

You should run the undertray all the way back to the centerline of the front wheels. If you are running coilovers the old leaf spring mounting points make a great place to attach.

I have a 4'X8' sheet of alumalite so Ill see where the 4' lands. I prob will use some studs or brackets in the spring mount points though. Coilovers are later. Do you think cooling will be fine without a vented hood?

Cooling is an issue once you add an undertray. I an one without a vented hood, but you need a fail large front opening. In addition to the opening at the bottom of the bumper cover, I created an opening where the license plate cover is. You also need to box in the air flow from both opening to the radiator.

My undertray runs to the cradle. I had to make a decent size duct in the bumper and seal up the rad for cooling

I got it made and mounted. I ran it all the way to the back of the cradle just before the oil pan. Tested at Thompson and no cooling issues at all.
