Wilwood Aero 6 brake kit - installed and review
I am posting this because i really struggled to find info on people who have completed this upgrade. I think the kit is relatively new, so the info may just not be out there yet.
The brakes are the Wilwood Aero 6 caliper kit (Thanks KNS BRAKES!) I believe this kit is cross compatible between C5 and C6.
These come complete with mounting brackets, lines, pads, etc. I swapped the included BT-20 Wilwood pads out for Carbotech AX6 pads because I do a lot of autocross.
The car is a c5 with C6 grand sport OEM wheels. There is at least a finger gap between the caliper and wheel.
The kit allows you to use either C6z51 or C6z06 oem sized rotors. I went with C6z51 sized DBA 4000 series rotors.
Fitment is great, the install was super easy. The hardest part of the install was making sure the pad lines up properly to the outer edge of the rotor. It ended up needing 4 shims on the passenger side and only 2 on the drivers side.
I can definitely say the higher speed braking is much improved over the stock C5 front calipers and Hawk HP+ pads. No autocross events on them yet, but this weekend I'll get them broken in!
A couple pics, sorry about all the brake dust:

Wish I could see how these wheels look on a c4. Really looking down the road for a cheap rim solution so I don't add another $1000 to the brake upgrade. I'd have to buy a set of track wheels and a set of street wheels. Unless I swapped calipers each track day which is 4-5 weekends a year.

Karl Dunn, MMC #1 in the roadcourse hot lap is one of the ones I mentioned running them. He's a good driver, but he told me some time ago he gets no fade and good bite.

Not even close...the Aero and W line of calipers use a larger and more beefy 6617 pad plate and are retained with two pins.
There are ample compounds to choose from for both track and street. You won't however be able to buy pads at Autozone for example tho.
