Those look great - and at about twice the cost of front sealed hubs they are priced right.

Looks like you pull it all apart, replace the roller bearings add lube and reinstall.
The pictures show good looking parts, I'm going to ask for details on the bearings they use and see what the cost is. However since I go through a set of front hubs on the 92 every year at about $300 a side . . . . . .

What the heck front hubs cost $300? I was using early C4 (no ABS sensor) for like $45 each.

Hmmmm - I didn't know that was an option. The last ones I bought were $240 ish with ABS.
Maybe I'll figure out how to ditch the ABS and ASR. I assume those are for the 84 or 85?

They don't fit a C4.

There was a place in NY (MAC auto?) that I was using, then I found one local to me in Detroit. Actually, I found them on Amazon and realized they were local.

Even the ones with ABS for the LT1 cars were less than $100, I want to say $65 but I'd have to check. Ultimately, as we all know, its' the rears that will kill ya. They don't last. I tried all the expensive ones and they were marginally better so I just started using the cheap ones and it was more cost effective in the long run.

Just take your T55 socket with you to the track...

Damn - that is cheap!
Yea - on the rears the T55, whatever the axle nut socket is, and TWO spare rear hubs are all in the track box. When I use a spare its time to bendover and get another.

It would be really nice to have a rebuild-able option for those

My last stock front hub finally bit the dust yesterday

I lasted 20years, so I guess I can't complain to much

I'll be calling them up for their latest design

So your OEM hub lasted 20 years and you're going to pay $650 for one that will...what? If I were getting 20 years from a hub I'd buy the same one again.

While I applaud anyone willing to support the C4, I just don't understand why companies keep tackling a problem that doesn't exist. The front hubs are not the issue. How many threads are we going to have on this topic?

I buy the Precision brand from Oreilly's, Usually a MOOG bearing in the box. 3 year warranty and swap them out as needed. $170 I think?

They held up very well on my Z28 on Rcomp tires.

Try Rock Auto. They recently had bearings at a very good price from their purchase of someone's overstock or closing.

Can you get the stockers anymore?

Everyone around here is going through them like crazy

Sounds like you need to break them in 1st before you hit the track.

Some observations from friends

I think you have to put 400 street miles on them before autocrossing. When I did that with any of them -they lasted a long time. When I didn't break them in they did not last. If you use Hoosiers it's a lot of lateral force on them. XXX put Moogs on the red vette but has only driven a couple of events this year so we don't know how much better they will be
My current hubs are two years old. Cheapest internet vendor I could find. I don't even remember whether there were markings on the boxes. Seems the more street miles I can get on a set of hubs before competition, the longer they last. MIght explain why the 20yo hubs lasted - work hardening of the cast machined race surface?

I just replaced a two year old Moog unit on the front. It had some play. 3 year warrenty too so I got it replaced no charge. They kinda wondered why didn't have wheel studs ( I run longer ones) but I played dumb. The new one says 3 year warrenty on the recepit. Good enough I'll see how it goes with this one and then......

I've replaced all 4. The rears have held up very well but I run street tires, I also replaced the washer and torqued them to 180+. Maybe my stub axle end play in the diff is saving the rear hubs? IDK, maybe I should fix the diff.......

All the internet places wanted at least 5 days to ship it.
RockAuto wanted me to wait until Tuesday
I stopped by Advanced Auto and bought a Driveworks hub, which is half the price of the MOOG
Should be here tomorrow.
I'll put some mile on it before the next autocross.

Sad to say I won't be making any SCCA autocrosses.
Prior commitments.

Took me about seven seconds to pull up the results. Join amazon prime and have them in 2 days free. The Detroit axle ones are the ones i used for several years before i switched to the C5.

Good to know, thanks. I haven't been out much as NASA great lakes folded and their mid west region doesn't go to Road America.
