200TW Tire options for C7 GrandSport
Guys,
I have 2 sets of 18" rims... One of them has Pirelli DH slicks for Roadcourse
Have also the set of OEMs 19-20's
I have a set of R888R in 315/335 and an almost worn out set of Nankang AR-1 same sizes
I'm looking at a set of 200TW tires for local Time attack where only 200TW or higher tires are allowed... I'm screwed with both R888R and AR1 as they are 100TW (despite being significantly slower than 200TW competitors)
In 18's the only tire I can find are the Rival S 1.5 at almost 2K the set ...
The Continental Extreme force are not available in 345/35 18 otherwise this would be my choice
I'm debating buying 2x 19's rims for the rear to have more choices...
In your opinion, for 200TW what is the best rim diameter for C7 Widebody ? I can get a set of used APEX SM-10 19's for $1500 with worn out tires...

I’d say GY Supercar 3, they’re pretty good.

Most of the good 200TW don't come in the ginormous 335 width we run. Maybe do a 315 square with a Yoko A052 or Falken RT660? Otherwise its Rivals from all of my research.

18x11 and 18x12.5 here. The 315/335 Rivals were nice and lasted a long time, but the Falken RT660 315 square is much quicker.
Feels wrong putting a 315 out back with over 500hp but they just handle so much better.
Apparently Nankang is coming out with a 335 CRs 200tw tire in the near future.

The Conti Force is a good 200tw if you’re willing to run 19”.
Very good on the street, good in the wet (just used them for a rainy track day at Road Atlanta) and decent in the dry as well

I'm looking for 200TW tires as well, but stock C6 Z06 size (18 front, 19 rear). I really wanted the 345 Conti Force but they are backordered for months. I started digging into the Falken Azenis RT660. Now I completely understand listed sizes and actual measurements vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. The RT660 in 315/30/19 is showing same tread width and OD as the 325/30/19 Conti Force and Pilot Sport Cup 2. It's a little more narrow than the PS4. The 275/35/18 in the RT660 is much wider than the same size Conti Force.
Anyone running RT660 notice they run a bit on the bigger side?

On the overall topic, I think having a 19" rear for the "big and tall" widebody C6/C7 street tire sizes is pretty close to a requirement. Not much in 18".

They're huge for a 315 so maybe they belong out back after all.

I just ordered Nankang's new CR-S (2023) in 315/30/18, 335/30/18 sizes. They seem to be a pretty good compromise for 200 tw contenders, and I intend to eventually replace my second wheel set tires (Toyo RR) with these.

i have come to believe such tables are paid advertisement.
what i know (on track):
- r888rs are far superior in traction to ps 4s. cars with those tires have no chance.
- r888rs are far more heat resistant that cup 2s. d vs. b? complete b.s. with the cups car was undrivable after 2-3 laps. on the rs i still have to find the limit.
for some reason the r888rs get bashed everywhere, even on here sometimes.

You can make pretty good, educated decisions based on the table, by prioritizing warm up and wet for street, for instance, and picking the fastest one with heat tolerance for track days, etc.
I use R7s for fastest laps, and RR for practice or hot days, but would like to give the new (2023) Nankang CR-S a try to replace RRs, based on the info here. We'll see.
