Default Continental DW - track pressures ?

I run a stock 1993 Z07 Corvette in HPDE. I am an intermediate driver, still running street tires. Tires are currently the limiting factor of the cars performance. Camber is set at neg 1.5 all around.

I have been running Kumho Excsta's, and found that optimum hot pressures for that tire on my car are 33 front, 31 rear. I generally start 5 psi lower on cold tires.

Those tires are shot now, and have been replaced with Continental Extreme Contact DW (275-40-17 all around). I have not yet been on track with these new tires.

For those of you with C4 experience and who have run these Contis, what hot pressures did you find optimum?

Run a session with the same pressures.
After session check pressures, reduce or increase as indicated.

So I ran cold 28/26, hoping for hit 33/31. This based on the performance of my old previous Kumhos.

After the first run, I was surprised to find hot 40/36. I bled these down to 33/31. I could tell during the run that grip was being lost as pressure climbed.

After 2nd session, hot was 35/33. Again I bled to 33/31.

Third session had pretty constant grip, so I think I finally had the pressure properly adjusted. Unfortunately I negelected to check hot pressure afterward.

The Conti's handled well other than heating up more than I expected. Looks like they require a much lower cold pressure. Does that sound reasonable?

Gaining 2-3 lbs per session is about as good as it gets.
