Default aFe New Pfadt Coilovers

Has anyone order the Pfadt coilovers from aFe Performance yet. I have been working with them to get replacement coilovers as I bought some used gen one pfadt coilovers and one of the rear ones had a blown shock. Unfortunately they cant fix mine. I have been back and forth over the Pfadt's and the Lg G2's. Cant decide if I want to have it adjustable or not. I think I will get a C6 Z someday so I would love to be able to just change them over and adjust accordingly. I do realize that I can put the LG's in a c6 z as well but it wouldn't be setup correctly as it would be coming off a C5 z. Anyone with any info on the NEW aFe coilovers please let me know what you think.

Neither, call RideTech.

You will be hard pressed to find a coil over of higher quality or one with a better warranty. To top if off, the customer service is beyond reproach.

I have had them for two years now and they are great. Ride great, perform great. Sure as hell cant beat a basically lifetime warranty either!

Very true. Without a doubt.

If your coil spring in the rear is not dragging on the tie rod, then I stand corrected. I'm not sure if the axle boot will not contact the spring too.

LG with offset top mount. 2 1/4" spring. These are inverted compared to the Ridetech, but I believe your spring collar are still below the tie rod. C5 I'm talking here.

Nope, spring does not touch the tie rod. Clearance is perfect.

LG G2s are Bilstein bodies with hyperco springs.......proven results with these coils in their racing. Be hard pressed to find anything better for the money without spending $5000+ on Penskes, Motons, or Ohlins.

RideTech is Fox Body with Hyperco Springs, Fox shocks have dominated the off road racing world for years so that is a testimate to their durability. No race car even sees close to the abuse that trophy trucks or similar do and it is the same technology that was carried over.

LG makes a fine product, cant dispute that. But its hard to deny that Ridetech's product is just as good, if not better and basically carries a lifetime warranty.

I decided on the LG G2's. Just talking with them and all the good info on the forum made me go that route. I liked the inverted shock of the LG'2 over the ridetech. Wish I could do real behind the wheel of each and decide but just have to go with the info I could gather.

Thanks all/LFZ

I have a good sized list of coil overs right now to build and I should have all customer orders up to now built by next week.

If you have any questions shoot me a PM, email, or get me on the phone!

Glad OP found something they liked.

I work for Lockheed and have nothing to do with any company that sells vette parts.

This video speaks to me. Maybe not anyone else, but it says a lot to me.

Can anyone explain the pros/cons to a inverted shock?

Less unsprung weight.....basically taking weight off a moving part which in this case is the lower control arm, and by inverting the shock body, you're adding the bulk/body of the shock to a fixed structure which is the frame.

Thanks that makes sense. Any cons to the user? longevity? leaking?

Not that we have ever seen. I have ran the same shocks on the race cars for three seasons in a row before with only checking air and dynoing the shocks between seasons and they have always been right there where they need to be.

Say what?? Seems to be a lot of mis-information floating around. Non-adjust coilover Penskes are about $2950 with springs, needle bearing thrust washers, and pin top mounts for more available stroke. Monoball uppers are an option.

Non adjustable Penskes...yes that is the price.... How about the double adjustable coilovers.....NO. And yes...I am comparing the LG G2s to the double adjustables with separate cannisters because they are that good.
