Default C6z rear brakes on c5

I'm looking to put rear c6z brakes on my c5 and was wondering what I'd need to do so. Obviously, I would need the calipers, but what else?

Brake lines I'm guessing?

C6z brackets?

And would a c6z master cylinder work on my c5? As I have a front bbk as well, I am going to need a bigger master cylinder

Thanks!

don't do it
just call up Todd at TCE (forum vender) and get a wilwood conversion
cheaper to use, better brakes

Why not? I already have wilwood up front. And if I can find a rear set for a good price I'll save like quite a bit of money. I honestly don't see why the wilwood in the rears would be so much better. Please enlighten me

The biggest problem with the stock C6Z06 is the brake pads or padlets.
they are too expensive.
the next problem is the pins or bolts that align & hold the pads
the either come out and damage the wheels or seize so that you have to remove the caliper to change pads.

Is there any way to fix that?

not that I'm aware of
to change to the Z06 brakes all you need is the caliper and Z06 disc and posibbly the parking brake assembly (which might be the same)
that will get you through but depending on cost of calipers and discs............ it may be just as cheap to get the wilwoods as they are about $1,000 for the calipers, pads, brackets and SS hoses

I have the Wilwood FNSL6 F, C6 Z06 R setup on my C5. Stock C6 Z06 size discs F&R, Rear was straight bolt on except brake lines (best of my recollection...), F needed custom caliper brackets and the narrow calipers for wheel spoke clearance (18" Enkei NT03s all around).
Brakes work great w/stock master, excellent feel.
The Z06 calipers may have their shortcomings, but they worked fine for me on the track.

I might suggest something 'in between'.

If the car has Wilwood's up front and springing for a full blown rear kit is not in the cards, or necessary, how about a direct replacement caliper?

This isn't race car stuff..just a nice and affordable alternative to the base sliding caliper.

DPC56 Rear Replacement Caliper Kit

DPC56 rear calipers are engineered as a high performance street and custom replacement for Corvettes and hot rods using Corvette suspension. These kits combine the high-tech styling and superior performance of the SLC56 calipers with the positive response, long wear, high fade resistance, and easy clean properties of the BP-10 compound Smart Pads. These kits are a direct bolt-on replacement for the OE calipers on all models of the C5 from 1997 to 2004, and all base model C6’s from 2005 to 2013 using the existing 12.00” diameter OE dimension rear rotors. The calipers attach directly to the Corvette spindle without the need for brackets or adapters and accept all types of OE banjo bolt style brake hoses.

Looks: Clean and nice. Simple stuff.
Cost: Very affordable. List is only 643 and we're below that of course.
Pads: Wilwood BP10 only. Totally new plate dedicated to the needs of the oe rotor size.
Pics: None from me at this time.
