I have finally acquired (another) two Alcoa 18 x 10.5. Now I just need to decide what to clad the 4 of them with.

If you are going to run with the TC/AC on then there is no point in running NT01s.

I am assuming your point is that with the nannies on you won't be able to extract the performance of the NT01's?

Being new to the car, I would likely do the first few sessions in the "Competition mode" but then likely move toward truning off the AH. But thanks for your input, its good to know the NT01's are that good

I know this thread is a little old. Thinking about changing up my C5 Z06 with 18 inch wheels all around. No road course. Just for looks and no issues. What size tire to run. Do not plan on rotating tire. Should I run 275/35/18 and 305/35/18 or 275/35/18 and 295/35/18. What is your thought from someone. Thanks!!

I've just acquired some 18" speedlines for the front as well and have become frustrated looking for the right combo with the right tires. I like the NT-05's but have only found them in 285/35 or 295/35. I know people are saying that they run square with no TC problems but I want to get as much tire under the rear. I don't believe the NT05's come in 305/35. I can run 285's in the front and 295's in the rear but that gives me .25" diff front to back. Is that enough to keep the nannies at bay?

I'd like to track it occasionally and would like to stay in a 200 TW tire

How are you getting to the track? NT-01s are great HPDE tires, but suck as street tires. If you're trailering the car or not driving very far, they'll be fine, but if you have to drive a long way to get there, I'd stay away from the NT-01. I used to run them on my M3, but only because my dad was trailering his car to the track and could transport them while I drove on my street tires. We've both switched to C5s and ditched the trailer, and now we use NT-05s , which don't have the same grip as the NT-01, but handle the 100 mile drive to Sebring much better than NT-01s do. He runs square 295 on 18" Z06 rears, I use square 315s on 17" CCWs.

I'm looking at those possible sizes if I get some feed back on them.
275/35/18 and 295/35/18. Not worried about rotating them.

I have not come up with anything yet. One guy I spoke to on here he had the 275/35/18 in the front and 295/35/18 in the rear and he liked it. I spoke to tire rack and if you go with Michelins Super sports Michelins recommend to run 265/35/18 on a 10.50 inch wheel. Tire rack claims the 265 is better to go with than the 275. I would like to see one in person before I make a decision. Not sure yet what I will do.

The 275/35/18 and 295/35/18 combo should work very well. the 305/35/18 in the back would be ok too. Either should keep the nannies happy.

I just ordered some 265/35/18 and 295/35/18 street tires (UPS says they were delivered today!). Honestly I wanted the 275's in the front but they were out of stock. But for street use it won't matter much. I have dedicated track tires/wheels.

Please post some pics when you get the fronts mounted. Sounds good!!

I definitely will.... though it might be a month or more. The entire drivetrain is out at the moment.

I'm wanting to be able to run with TC on for now but get a better tire. I'm looking at Toyo 315/30/18 rear and 295/30/18 in the front set up. Do you guys think I'll have TC problems? I dont have AH in the car. There is .5" difference in height between the two. Stock z06 goodyear f1's in 295 and 275's there is .7" difference. So I'm thinking I'll be ok but wanted everyones opinions.

I really don't understand why you would run staggered tire sizes on square wheel sizes. There are no issues with street driving that way, and you should have all TC/AH off for track/autocross with a C5 since it is too intrusive. I was 16th overall and 2nd in GT2/BB this year in One Lap of America running 295 Mich PSS square on 10.5" rims.

I have run 275 square on 10.5 and 295 square on 10.5 and there is a noticeable grip increase from the 295. The 275s are quite stretched on the rim- 265 would be very stretched.

If you are running enough camber you will wear out the inner shoulder on the fronts before anything else, so being able to rotate them to the back greatly extends tire life.
