I am so surprised You found those pics.!!!

This is the very first shake-down run in November of 1997(?) at Shannonville.... give or take 2 years... I do not remember anymore.

John Caravaggio took those pictures. I seem to think that the camera was the old film-based kind. How did these pics. end up on the internet? and were found?!?

Engine is back in with an upgraded oil cooler with -10 lines , trying to get oil temp down. Off to Can alignment in Hamilton for corner balance and setup with the adjustable control arms. A set and a 1/2 of Hoosier 295/35/17 should hopefully last the summer, keeping a set for race only and the other pair on stock wheels with my older 275/40/17 on the front for practice days.

Cleaned up a small leak i had at the pedals somewhere and followed the other threads advise switching to the 3 in 1 reservoir so i could use -3 lines with proper fittings. I also redid the tilton brake and gas pedals for easier heel toe. Still have some minor ducting to finish up for rad and coolers and then get to Grand bend and Tmp for some practice. I missed the May 3 Gt sprints races at CTMP -wasn't quite ready yet and there was cold rain with hints of flurries in it . This weekend is at Calabogie -Ottawa region about 6 hrs away, but i've had to get another tow vehicle to replace my 17 year f250 diesel. I plan on getting up there to Canada's longest track for their next event in aug and the 3 other race weekends coming up at CTMP. Its now time to get this thing out and drive it .....

Race update
Had a good weekend out at CTMP-Canadian Tire motorsport Park july 30 weekend
Race #1- got hit on p side cresting hilltop doing 137mph , by a car pulling out to avoid a slow gt1 car -pulled right out when i was beside him .Classes Gt1 to Gt 5 sometimes run all together ,approx. 38 cars
Car felt fine but i got black flagged in because of a skirt sticking out about 3 ft on that side and then a tire went down and i spun trying to make it into pits - 2 broken ccw wheels and a bunch of body work to redo.
I was able to plastic tie it together and hang with the gt3 cars on both sunday races ( race hero for results)
Every time out i knocked off some time and there's way more for me to improve. 1.33.2 as i get used to the car
Last race #3- 6 in class -13th overall- had 6 gt 3 cars bumper to bumper crossing the finish line , i tried passing a 2006 vette at the outside of hilltop of last lap -it was close - but driving through the fresh kitty litter spread to absorb oil changed my mind for me as it became a blinding dust and it tastes like crap.... the car is now littered with it.☺
lost brakes at finish line of last race ( broken line fitting... and a leaking rear diff......or blowing out the vent which i'll have to run to a canister now

Planning for Calabogie for next race Aug 20-hopefully i can get it pieced back together.

Finally got the 3rd signature for a full CASC license with a car that made it the whole weekend, my old waterford MI license from the 90's never carried over.

p.s. looking for outer 17 " ccw rings -20 bolt style seem to be hard to find

Tire/Wheel Question

Are you running a square setup? I think I'm looking at 4 tires of the same size.

I run the CCW wheels that you have have.

What sizes are they?

i run square 295/35/17 hoosier R7
seem to fit well and i can rotate tires around but not wheels .
ccw 17x11 (18.5 lbs)wheels have a bit of different offset but both are close to 36 mm that fit on our cars , one might be a 38 mm which rubs in the rear a bit
- low 7" back space and i run a 1/4 "spacer also
i'll have to go back to my stock 25 lb 17x 9.5 vette 5 spoke with the 36 mm at least until i find parts for my ccws

I think John is finally done at CCW and I don't have a good contact for him. I'm not sure how helpful the new CCW owners will be. They do seem nice though.

It's worth a try.

btw - I finally needed up with a 1/16" spacer on my rear wheels. I only needed this once I switched to Goodyears.

I've found 2 remaining ccw 20 bolt in the CF classified that will work -just working on getting them shipped up here . I had contacted WELD/CCW for outer rings but they have no parts remaining for the pre 1997 20 bolt style. New wheels with correct offset are $950 canadian each..... not ready for that yet
There is also a also a 30 bolt set with a 7 5/8 back space 42mm and i need 32mm . with a 1/2" spacer they may work but i would need hub centric spacers and change from 2.5" 3" arp studs.
But I'm also thinking moving the wheels center that far out on the hub may cause frequent hub failure.

Race photographer posted some pics from the CTMP july 29 weekend,
I even found a car that had its driver side fenders hanging off- interesting race incident. Body work continues....

Hood scoop cam version #2 testing this weekend ,
more adjustments for camera and screen and a direct picture as opposed to the reverse /back up camera system. i may build the screen into the dash this winter if the idea works

Race weekend Sept 17/18 at CTMP
Indian Summer Trophy Races

Race #1 Lots of rain throughout the day, made for a slippery track or at least more for me- turns out my hoosier rain tires are from 2006 , new ones needed for next year for sure but skated through this race with no marks.
Race#2 Boxed in at the start and could not get out , finally got around some cars and my car went lean ( wide band o2 guage ) and was bogging on lap 1. Pulled into the pits and then paddock, only after removing my belts i realized fuel pressure was at 3psi , switched to pump 2 and up to 6 psi it went .... Arrgg ! should have figured that out while on the track - next time i'll test that first .
Race #3 Start at the back because of the dnf of previous race, first lap stall by a Gt 1 car at the bottom of the hill caused mass chaos and accidents ... but i was fine at the back . Race restarted and hard charged (race hero) up 17 places to 5th in GT 3 class.
This weekend last event of the season once again at Ctmp and its promising lots of rain again ....
Bumped up all four corner spring rates by 100lb that should help firm up the car and minimise a few locations where it was bottoming out just hopefully its dry .
Replaced fuel pump with new Holly Black ..
so we'll see how things go

Oct 1 /2 2016 Canadian tire motorsport park GT Sprints
Fog and rain pretty much sum up the weekend with a weather change every 20 minutes , i found myself standing looking at the clouds as cars were gridding with the ultimate choice each race - old rain tires or hoosier drys.... Even on occasions when the sun peaked through for a few minutes the track was still wet with a rarely a visible fast dry line.
I wasn't the only one apparently, i arrived at pit row as the 5th car with 20 others trying to make the same choices .Appeared in most cases to be a 50/50 split for tires.
Race #1 rain- run groups this time were just GT 1 ,2 and 3 which left out a lot of the pestering gt4 cars that are frequently in the way until they can be cleared . For some strange reason the inside line opened up at corner 1 and i took it moving up past even some Gt 1 cars to probably 4 place overall , but as the Gt 1 's and 2's thundered down on me i slid off on wet corner 3 towards the wall but was able to kick the rear around and make it back to the track mising the wall by 1" i'm sure. Ended up 3rd in GT3 class that rain race thanks to a no show with the subaru awd.
Sunday race #2 - started off fine but with 5 laps to go car died and i pulled off in corner to be towed back...
Turns out MSD blaster ss coil failure and no spare so that ended my weekend, bumping down to 5th place GT3 class for the year .. with only 3 weekends attended .
This winter i'll add in 2 complete ignition systems ,switchable while driving ..just in case 1 fails.
Camera system worked fairly well and my 12 volt car heater facing the windshield kept it fog free.
Fellow Corvette driver Mark Buscher #184 booked his car in with BC Race Cars at the track for the weekend where they take care of the "works" -resulting in a 1rst place for him in GT2 on sunday race .
Seems the porsche clubs have found my class a great place to race their factory 2016 Cayman Gt4 's and 911 race cars .
I'll need more "power"!

That is one very interesting front on #184.

I would be a little concerned about the drag with that large wing.

Those are some really great cars.

I noticed your were doing a little agricultural work with your car.
