Default Z06 Corvette at Bathurst!

Hi All,
I finally had a successful outing in my racer over the weekend supporting the Bathurst 12HR sports car race. Managed to win my class with 2 wins and a 2nd place over the 3 races. Got 7 seconds a lap quicker from Qualifying to race 3. First time I have had this car to the mountain and only the cars 3rd race meeting since being complete.

Big thanks to Louis Gigliotti who helped me solve an issue with the torque cut function to get the sequential box working which got me to the meeting. Woohoo!

Thanks guys, is an amazing circuit and even better in the vette! I have raced there a few times now and it takes quite a few trips to get confident enough to attack the track and find lap speed. Top speed was just over 170mph on conrod straight.

Awesome video!!! I have driven that track in a video game, and would love to try it in real life. It looks very very challenging.

Where did your Corvette start life? I assume you had it shipped from the US.

Default Jeez

Just tried the track on Forza. Jeez, how do get thru those downhill turns without nailing walls like a pinball?

The car started life as special build GM Show car and was purchased in Nebraska through Harchelroad Chevrolet (i think that's the spelling). It was never road registered and was kept at Hastings Motorsport Park. It had 4500 miles when I purchased it. It was in road car trim with a harness bar and had a number of enhancements to the engine and suspension. I purchased it in January 2012 and imported it personally into Australia. I then stripped it, had it caged and upgrade a number of things such as the dry sump and oil/gearbox/diff and engine cooling to prepare it for racing. It now has a custom OS Giken Lsd, PPG 6sp sequential conversion, PFADT mounts, bars and coilovers, engine internals supplied by LG Motorsports and Katech and a Mantic 9000 twin plate clutch.

I have been racing for over 13 years coming through the MX5/Miata ranks in Australia. Last car was a 430hp turbo MX5. I have raced at this track 6 times now and it takes almost all the weekend to get back up to speed. I love it though, it requires commitment to go fast and smooth, skilled driving to keep off the walls. Prior to this, my best race here (apart from a flag to flag win) was coming from 43rd to 3rd in 7 laps in the rain, missing 1st place by around 300 metres. Only needed one more lap!
