No Ford GTs were hurt in the filming of this documentary
Corvette Racing reminded everyone at the end of the Rolex 24 that the Ford GTs shouldn’t get all the hype. Finishing first and second in class, and seventh and eighth overall, the C7.R ‘Vettes dominated the way Ford had hoped it would.
Winning back-to-back Rolex 24s was reason enough for the folks at Corvette Racing to get an artsy look at this year’s victory. Of course, watching all 24 hours, or the last half-hour that the Chevrolets dominated, would be a daunting task for an afternoon – so the video is merely 5 minutes.
In the video we see quick shots of all four drivers, a few pit stops and the finish. The short documentary even briefly discusses previous winners of Daytona’s 24-hour race, with race cars from BMW, Porsche and Ford (among others).
Ford? Well, the closest GT was 32 laps behind the winning number 4 Corvette. We’ll see if Sebring is a different story.
