Formula One - Australia - TV Schedule (U.S.)
=======================================
Formula One - AUSTRALIA Schedule on NBC Sports Network
=======================================
1. THE TIMES AND DAYS FOR THIS RACE ARE DIFFERENT, SO PAY ATTENTION!
2. THERE ARE THREE SHOWINGS OF THE RACE THIS WEEKEND
3. THERE IS ONE SHOWING OF QUALIFYING THIS WEEKEND
4. THERE IS ONE SHOWING OF PRACTICE 1 THIS WEEKEND
5. THERE IS ONE SHOWING OF PRACTICE 2 THIS WEEKEND
6. ALL OF THE BROADCASTS ARE ON NBC SPORTSNET
If there are changes between now and race weekend I will make them here
AND add a message about it to this thread.
The post-race show "F1 Extra" is shown immediately after the race show
whatever time that may be. NBC schedules "F1 Extra" to start 2 hours after
the start of the race but, in reality, it's always shown immediately after the race
regardless of the time on the clock. The simplest way to make sure you record "F1 Extra"
is simply to add enough extra time to the race broadcast recording to get any
extra time that was needed to record the entire race including any delays, and to
get "F1 Extra". My standard is to add at least three hours (!) just to make
sure I cover most eventualities.
I pull this info from from my Tivo's schedule. I have no guarantee that
it is correct but it usually is. I also try to double check it with the NBC Sports
NET schedule.

Practice sessions
Note that the P1 and P2 session times appear to be correct. Their times on NBCSN match those on the local (Melbourne) race weekend schedule. So maybe for once NBCSN and the TIVO schedulers (zap2it.com) are actually in accord
And one more time - the practice sessions start on THURSDAY night here in the U.S.

Heads up: New show scheduled!
NBCSN has produced a one-hour show entitled:
ALL TIMES PACIFIC!!!
March 16 8:30 PM (as I type this )
March 17 5:30 PM (1 hour before Practice 1)
March 19 8:00 PM (1.5 hours before the F1 race)
Also note that "F1 Countdown" is scheduled as a separate show for the half hour before the race (9:00 PM March 19)
I will add these shows and times to the schedule in Message #1
Sorry I didn't spot this earlier.

Thanks Z for keeping us posted regarding the most important televised event since F1 2015 ....at least for me
Moto GP will be starting soon as well and if all goes as planned will be at COTA this April to see the event.

I suspect that few folks here will remember that back in the early days of the Long Beach F1 race one of the support races was the motorcycle SIDECAR guys. And this is when the track ran up and down a couple of *steep* hills at each end of the pit straight. That was a real eye-opener! "Nuts" doesn't begin to describe that.
The other series supporting the F1 races there was Formula Atlantic with some up-and-coming guys like Gilles Villeneuve & Bobby Rahal. The FA cars were perfect for that early Long Beach layout and made for some really great racing and spectating.
I was surprised to learn that the Aussie V8 Supercars are one of the support races for the F1 race this weekend. They are threatening to quit, though, because Bernie won't let their Melbourne race count for the championship. Clearly he's afraid that they'll show up his F1 gang.
