Default For those waiting on RE-71's in 285/30/18

I just received notification from Tire Rack that they are in stock and my pre-order shipped today. I should have the new shoes Friday. I will update this thread with pictures on C5Z06 rears (square) when they are mounted up.

If you want these tires I suggest you get them now before they sell out.

Tires are in! Here are some photo comparisons next to a 295/30/18 R888. These seem very wide for 285's

They are supposed to be significantly wider than 275/35 RE71R's. I will be ordering the 285's soon. Are you using for STU class?

Mine shipped and are to be in Friday, but I was told the entire first batch at Tirerack is already sold out. Next batch in May. You better get on the list if you want them...

I just got my tirerack flyer and it has the same $70 coupon as last year advertised on the Bridgestone page.

We won't know for sure if the RE71R will be part of the promotion for a few more days, but it was last year. Based on that, I'm waiting until April 1st (ironically April fools day) to see if the coupon will work on the RE71R.

Can someone throw a tape measure on and give me an actual tread width?

I ordered mine on 3/2 and it showed 4/1 as a ship date. It then went to 4/7, then suddenly showed 5/7. I called and they said mine was still on track to ship 4/7, but that the first run of tires was sold out so the 5/7 date was the next expected delivery...of course I got word on Wednesday 3/23 that they were in and would ship 3/24, go figure. If you need a set soon, I am just suggesting you may want to get an order in soon. The dates are obviously all over the place right now.

Agreed, if you need them now, then order them now. However, I'm in NH and we don't start until April. So I can wait and save the $70... again, given the coupon is valid this year.

I still have some life in last years 275 and I kept them wrapped and in warm storage. They should be good for the first events should there be any significant delay. All the April events are shake downs up here and still run the possibility of being cancelled due to weather... I got 8" of snow here on the first day of Spring.

Just a bit under 12". What were the 275's measuring?

Wow, those don't seem like they'd be too stretched on 11-12" wheels even.

Hmmm.

A limited number will be available soon in our Colorado and Louisiana warehouses. If you want to get them early order them ASAP ... here's a link to them on our website http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....&affiliate=CN3

I'd be curious to see real life diameter/circumference measurements of...

275/35/18 on a 9.5" wide rim
285/30/18 on a 10.5' wide rim

I ran the 275's on 10.5's this year. I think the sidewalls are so stiff there won't be that much bulge/balloon effect on a 9.5

Tirerack lists the diameters... 275 = 25.6, 285 = 24.8. That's a pretty substantial difference in the opposite direction of OEM. I'm guessing your trying to run 275 in front and 285 in rear.

I'll take picks of the 275's on the 10.5 and then the 285's on same 10.5's when I get mine. I won't be able to help on the 9.5 wheel because I don't have one laying around.
