Default Brake upgrade for base C6 help

I am looking for suggestions for upgrading the brakes on my '07 C6 with Z51 package for dedicated track use. Not looking to break the bank, maybe around $2000. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I ran this setup on my base C6 for thousands of track miles. Lots of C5 racers used it too. Essex significantly improved it for street driving with spring loaded bolts for the rotor hats eliminating the rotor clunk and beefier brackets than the Hardbar design. It's about $2600.

Would it be wise to make a template to be certain these fit inside our wheels?

Yes. There is so little clearance between the spokes and calipers with the stock wheels you will have trouble with almost all big brake kits.

Thanks for the tips. I'll look into both.

I'm a novice having just joined a local track. I've attended levels 1 and 2 at Spring Mountain and had a couple sessions with a local instructor. I just mounted RE-11's but haven't run them yet.

If you plan to modify your car, improve your skill, drive different tracks, etc., you have to think long-term (the next 5 years), not just today/tomorrow. Here's a video I did on that topic:

Below are two videos on our Essex Designed AP Racing Competition Brake Kits. Our kits have a laundry list of features not available elsewhere, and we have a variety of systems depending on how you view your long-term needs, your long-term budget, etc. My advice is to not rush into the decision without some careful consideration. We've helped many hundreds of vette owners with this decision, and we can give you some guidance as well. Feel free to PM me, email me, or call at 704-824-6030 and we can walk you through the process so you end up with the most appropriate choice to match your needs.
