Default Replacing punctured tire

I drive a stock 1993 C4 in intermediate HPDE. I also occasionally drive the car as a daily driver.

I found a screw in my right front tire today. It has punctured the tire, and exhibits a very slow leak. The puncture is in the outside corner and could include the sidewall (too close to know for sure).

My plan is to replace the single tire, and to move its replacement to the left front, as that corner gets the most wear at my usual tracks. I figure that after 2 or 3 track days, the new tire (starts at 7/32) will match the older 3 (currently 5/32).

The tires are Nitto 05. They have about 10 sessions / heat cycles.

Should I expect any braking issues with front tires of slightly different wear?

Any other advice?

IMO that'll be fine.

Any other advice?

I've tracked the good pull through type patch several times without issues.

Hi - to clarify, you've run HDPE with a plug/puncture repair strings in a tire?

Just to be clear the OP stated it might be into the sidewall area. That is a nono if it's in the sidewall (or close). The "rule of thumb" is one inch IN from the edge of tread. And no high speed anything with a plugged tire. Autox is low speed & properly designed courses have "spin out" zones throughout.

Modern tires at highway speeds RARELY BLOW OUT they deflate. However at TRACK speeds a blow out is possible & run off zones are not always there. Maybe a wall or ditch.
