RE-11 vs R88 ?
13 GS M6, MR, XR2 Cobalt, DBA 4000.
I have run the past 2 track seasons on Bridgestone RE-11s. I feel the tires are giving up much sooner in a 30 minute session than before. I am wondering if the 24 hrs of track time at Sebring is the max this tire can handle before it starts to go away? Still 45/50% tread left.
Would R88s be a better choice?
Tire rack tells me the R88 in GS sizes have different speed ratings Y vs (Y) front to rears and may affect handling. HUH? Never heard that before. I trailer the car to Sebring so wet conditions are not an issue.

RE-71R are the Re-11's replacement and a much better tire. The best tire I ever had. Had a set of 4 on my 700whp 2015 STI. While others at the track had 400-600whp cars and were spinning all 4 on high performance summers or whatever...I NEVER spun them once...never lost traction at all on dry pavement...even popping the clutch. I wish they made them in the size for the ZO6 and I would replace the MPSC2 in a heart beat. And they arent that expensive.

The RE-11 is a true street tire, 200TW rated and of the "old" 200TW family of tires.
The R888 is a track day designed tire, 100TW and not designed for street use. The RE-11 would last longer, but not provide the same performance level as the R888. The R888 will be more tolerant of heat too.
