Fairly certain I've checked it, but I'll put a gauge on them when I get home. Only other thing I can think of is that something is rubbing on the wheels or tires, which makes no sense since I took OEM wheels off with R888R's and simply bolted another set of oem wheels on with R888's. I'll check over everything carefully though anyway.

I cannot confirm since I don't own either set of Toyo's but I have read the new "R's" run "bigger" then the old 888's

The thread pattern on these new tires are strikingly similar to NT01s, and they are very loud on the highway. Actually, they get even louder past 100 MPH at the track. Until I watched another Corvette's video with NT01s at the same track, I was even wondering if I had an issue with the differential or axles.

I would be very surprised if it would be the pressures that cause excessive noise : (

The regular R888 run a size wide, as do the R888R. My R888's in size 305 fit like a 315, and the other car with R888R in size 295 fit like a 305. In my example, I swapped the 295 R888R's for a set of wider 305 R888's.

Can you clarify.....are the 305/30R18's available in R888R's now? I'm not finding that size available as of yet at least at Phils or TireRack.

The R888Rs run slightly wider than the R888s I removed.

Whenever I work on my brakes (like all the time!) I always wash my rims while off. With the same size tire I could not lay down my fronts on the driveway with out the metal rim hitting the concrete. With the R888R in the exact same size, no such issue, all rubber.

Also I drove with them for the first time today up to about 60 and heard no unusual noises at all at 35 psi (a bit high I know). They are certainly quieter than any hybrid cars high efficiency tires, those are horribly noisy.

Hmmm, I'm on Phils Tire Service website and it did allow me to download the R888R size 305/30R18 into the checkout cart and the price was $399.00 per tire (I don't think that can be correct...seems super high to me).
When I compared the R888R 295/30R18 it was $252.00 a tire. But now if I go back to the 305/30R18 it says it is unavailable.

If the pricing is correct, I'm not sure the extra 15mm width is worth the $147.00 price difference per tire considering my driving talent. $600.00 can go towards brake pads and other consumables.

I'll call them in the morning to get the correct answer.

Looks like 315/30/18 is a real size per Toyo's website

I spoke to a tirerack rep online after seeing this and told me that they should have the tires in stock in 30-60 days and cost is $281.31 per tire for 315/30/18.

I've been driving on mine and hear no strange noises at all.

Very minor tire noise, quite average really.

What are your impressions overall? Any spirited or track driving?

None. Seriously.

I have front R888Rs but my rear R888s are completely bald until the replacement R888Rs arrive in a week or two.

And I likely won't get proper track time until the Fall.

Sorry, wish I could tell you more.

Not exactly apples to apples.. but I have 11 track sessions on my track Acura integra. Running 550/650lb coilovers and 205/50/15 R888R's

so far I am very pleased with the tire. They come up to temp in a lap. The are fairly forgiving/corectable at the limit with no audible tire squeal. And I haven't overheated or got them greasy yet. I still have yet to reach the traction limit of the tire at high speeds. Hopefully will soon. Lol.

Thanks. I think I will try them after I am finished with these NT01s. I really like NT01, and they are about $500 cheaper, so I am not sure why I am changing.

Well, that's simply not true at all. Where are you finding Nitto NT01's cheaper than R888 or R888R?

It is most certainly true for me. And I never said R888. I get a new set of NT01 275 front and 325 rear for $950-$1000 off ebay. I buy them pretty regularly. Simply go to ebay and prove it to yourself. I priced out 345/295 R888R on Phil's site and with shipping were about $1450.

So you're saying Nitto NT01 are cheaper when you buy smaller sizes? Well...of course they are.

R888R and R888 are always cheaper than NT01 in the same sizes. I get that you may be forced to buy a different size due to size availability between the two, but it's a bit misleading to say they are just flat out cheaper. I did a test and matched your NT01 275/325 tires on EBay. You can buy that same size set of tires in R888R for $696.98.

I said "for me". Not sure why that is difficult to understand. NT01 in the sizes available for a C6 Z06 are less expensive than R888R. Period.
