In my 89, I am using a Be Cool with a Lingenfelter 427 SBC. For an oil cooler I am using a water/oil heat exchanger and my water temperature never goes over 200 and my oil temp runs 175-183 on a hot day. My water temp usually hangs around 175-185 depending how the air temp.

I'm not really convinced that a combined unit will be enough. Results are all over the board with this. People are claiming they see as low as 230F oil temp while others say they are driving it well into 280's with the combined cooler. Because of this, I'm leaning toward the cautious side and going with a stand alone DRM. However, when it comes to the radiator, there is almost $200 difference between the two. If DeWitts will keep coolant at 225 or less, I'll run with that.
I have a DeWitts in my C3 running a small block gen1 427 putting out 603hp and a t56 magnum 6 speed. It works great on both the street and the road race track. The only time the fans come on is sitting still in traffic.
Hope this helps,
Rob

I used the Dewitt's radiator in my '04 C5 (510 rwhp), '09 Mustang (385 rwhp), and will be using it in my '13 Grand Sport (390 rwhp) with great cooling results. Great quality, performance, and price.

I have a Dewitts, When stock it was fine. Since adding Headers I can't get a lap out of it before it's 235f and rapidly rising. I've been trying to brain storm what to do to cool it. Moved oil cooler to external out front, sealed off all ducting to the rad to make sure all air goes through. Put hood vents in. Water and water wetter only. Made NO difference. Still have to short shift once or twice a lap to get the whole lap out of it before I'm afraid of the coolant temps and lift.

I had a Dewitts in my Z51 C6, its WAY WAY WAY WAY better than stock, both for cooland, and oil, but its nowhere near say a Z06 with separate oil cooler, I saw 275-280 oil temps, coolant temp were very good though, never over 220. (track use)

For a track toy, combined is a nogo, for some trackdays? its ok.

I have used and installed both. The dewitts is in my c6 Z06 .The dewitts is a direct bolt in and the Ron Davis takes a very tiny amount of mount modifications. I think the RD a better piece.

Wrapping the headers will reduce the under hood temps. Is it possible that your car is running lean also.

Notice this popped up again. I appreciate the suggestions guys, and I went complete stand alone.

I have yet to install them, but I have a DeWitt's radiator with engine oil cooler (may use this for power steering?), and then DRM diff and trans coolers to install behind the rear brake ducts. Also have the DRM oil cooler with the larger setrab 725 core waiting to install. Should take care of any heat issues from here on.

Quick Reply: Radiator: Ron Davis or DeWitts
