Default TPMS for Cars without TPMS

For those of you that have older corvettes (C3) anyone have a TPMS System that we can add.

At track days I can only check before and after PSI, but never during the session.

I would love to know Tire Temps and PSI if possible.

These are available all over the internet. There are two types: external sensor (big valve plugs that also measure pressure), and internal (identical to OEM).

I use the external types on my trailer and Miata tires, since they are very easy to install, and track tires quickly go out of balance anyway, so I don't care much about the imbalance the big plugs might create.

Interesting...how accurate is this system when compared to a calibrated tire pressure gauge? Thanks for your input.

The spec sheet states +-1 PSI. They have been just as accurate as the OEM system in my experience.

Here is the unit I purchased.
http://www.minderresearch.com/tiremi...nical-support/

I found this at a local department store for $99 CDN.

I plugged the units in my 2010 Grandsport to see how well they measured. They are about 3-5 kpa lower than the GM TPMS.

And when compared to my Digital Tire Pressure gauge they are about the same reading 3-5 kpa lower.

This is about .44 - .73 PSI lower.
