According to nurburgringlaptimes.com, this makes the Camaro faster than a 2010 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, a 2013 Nissan GT-R, a 2012 Corvette ZR1 and a 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB.

Chevy is knocking it out of the park. If that car has the track reliability the previous gen Zl1 did, hard to argue that it isn't the one to have as a stock HPDE car, despite its heft. Looking forward to more times and review.

Could not tell, does it rev match?

Runs out of power in top gear if you can call 170 mph "out of power".

Impressive & fun to watch.

What does one cost? Over sticker (market adjustment) or not?

It does rev match, you have to turn it on each time you start it. Not sure he had it on.

69,995 MSRP. Can't buy one just yet (non 1lE Zl1 is available), so who knows what selling prices will be. My guess based upon Z/28 pricing is market adjustment for a couple of months on the first handful, MSRP the rest of the first year, discounts by next year, and heavy discounts after that.

1LE version is manual trans only. Too bad too, because the A10 would be awesome in this car.

That was an incredible drive. The best part is when at the end of the famous straight at 170 mph he brakes, hits the first apex at 130+, then goes through slower and slower corners. Basically he drops from 170 to 70 while going through 3 or 4 corners, all in about 5 seconds. That ain't easy.

GM's SOP is generally to publish times in a completely stock car, except with a roll bar (or cage), harness, and race seat for safety. The rollover protection may add a little stiffness (although weight as well), so that is a slight consideration.

Tires are the stock Goodyear Supercar 3R. The press release makes no mention of brakes, but I'm almost positive they would be stock calipers, rotors, pads, etc. I imagine they stuck with the Ferodo HP1000 pads they've been using in the high performance Camaros (and others), but don't know for sure.

I've watched this multiple times now. That guy can wheel that car!! It get my heart rate up every time! I have driven the Ring in video games, and I have yet to make a lap without being too slow or going off. Its a lot to remember!

Motor Trend reported that Bill Wise made another run later in the day and clocked 7:13 but GM crew missed to turn on the camera. To avoid controversy, GM announced only the lap that was recorded on camera.

i was at the ring last week and was told that the corvette team was also there with the new car with the aero(zr1?) and crashed one of the cars hard. I'm interested to see if they got a time or not. i did 4 laps, 1st one with a guide. i can tell you the videos do not show the elevation changes on this track. i can see how so many people crash on this thing. there are a few jumps on where most would use as a braking zone. there are a few downhill sections were speed is hard to judge and scrub before turning. that being said i still can't wipe the smile off my face and can't wait to go back.

Bill confirmed this on another forum. They have full data, but no video of the 7:13 run.
