Default C7 racecars

The C7Z51 is drysump motor. Does it really need it or is this paranoia from the LS3 motor that blew up without one? The camaro 1LE does not have a drysump yet pulls same G's as C7Z51. Could it be that the LT1 motor is like the old C5Z06 LS6 motor being bullet proof and no drysump needed?

If the Lt1 in the gen6 camaro can do the 1+ G's then the hot ticket is to build C7 racecars from cheap C7 base units and skip the drysumps? What do you guys think? Anyone used a base unit for a racecar build?

Interesting point. It never crossed my mind that the 1LE was not dry sump. I know the ZL1 is not. Common sense tells me it's not just G's in one corner, but S's for example. On the other hand, what does it matter since the 1LE can take as much as anyone buying it can deliver.
