What about Leclerc in the Ferrari? Does he make it the whole season?
Let's see how Riciardo and Leclerc get along with their new to them cars... it could go a lot of ways...

I am hoping Leclerc kicks major *** to include lighting a fire under Vettel's ***. Kimi is great but sometimes he languishes in the back and lacks the fire to interfere with Bottas. Kind of pisses me off sometimes.

I think he's being told to "take a back seat" and getting paid to do so

Nah. Not competing with Bottas is not in Ferrari's best interest.

I don't think Leclerc will get that order though. As long as he is not running into Vettel.

my point was that he's there to protect vettel unless vettel has no chance, so i guess "holding up bottas" might be a better phrase.

Any new tracks on the horizon?

Will we ever get a 2nd location here in the US?

I though the NJ/NY thing was all but done but I guess not.

Dude. The only one talking about it is you.

You are not higher than anyone else here.

Back to F1 topics.

Will the US get a second GP?

Vettel spending time at RB lately:
http://gptoday.com/full_story/view/6...ri_hopes_fade/
Interesting to see bridges weren't burnt between the 2 parties.
IIRC, his contract is up at the end of next season at Ferrari.
Wouldn't be too surprising if he is back at RB or goes to MB for 2020...neither he nor Ferrari seem to be happy with each other at the moment.

Vettel indicates Ferrari doesn't know WHY their car went sideways the last few months:
http://gptoday.com/full_story/view/6...y_is_bad_news/
He has a point.

Vandoorne to do simulator work for MB next season in addition to Formula E:
http://gptoday.com/full_story/view/6...cedes_in_2019/
Well, at least it's something...

i was happily talking F1 when you got butthurt because you don't like being told you're wrong. I didn't disrespect anyone or anything, you're the only one acting immature. So please stop it, and stick to F1.

Vettel and Ferrari are to blame for their TEAM failing this year even though the constructor's championship is still far from decided.

Vettel has a point but at the same time he has made plenty of mistakes.

Vandoorne is scared. Alonso makes him look slow in a slow car.

Mercedes is beginning to understand the reasons for his defeat in Austin. Hamilton's floor was damaged by debris, Merco estimation : 0.1 to 0.2 sec/lap. Moreover, obviously and without explicitly saying it, the lack of dry driving disturbed them more so the set up was not as good as some competitors, especially since the psi was increased by 1.5 just on Sunday. Last but not least, the FIA corrected the situation regarding Merco's new rear wheels by ordering the Mercedes to close the rim and hub holes before the start of the US GP so as not to take advantage of the aerodynamic effect, although it was declared negligible early last week. And then we all saw the blistering come back on the Merco rear tires in Austin.

Concerning Ricci Dentifrice's PU, to my knowledge, it is the 2nd or 3rd time that the battery goes into off, and this battery failure only happens at RBR. Renault had installed in his team and at Mc a new spec of MGU K and battery but RBR had refused, preferring the old specs for reasons of their own which had contributed a verbal war between Horner and ''la boule'' (the ball, Abitboul).

I don't recall LH complaining about it...he usually does.

Perhaps the packaging is different and RB couldn't make it fit?

Not in ITW but after debriefing, Toto and himself talk a few about that without giving much explanation, like''we found it but we won't say exactly what it was''. This team is an impressive task force. We will examine how the tires will evolve in Mexico Hermanos Rodriguez since the FIA ordered the holes in the hub and rims to be plugged.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if MB bounced back in Mexico...they always seem to after a poor performance.

Maybe not surprised but it would be better to see Ferrari go 1,2 so the constructor's championship locks up tighter.

You do know the driver's championship is secondary in all of this?

I doubt it. The US isn't a big enough F1 market to dictate a 2nd venue/race.

I'm happy to see Ferrari back on form. Apparently the answer is to run water trucks around every track on Friday, so the sessions are all but rained out, but incentive the teams to run young drivers somehow so they can work to build towards a Super License. Then have the tire supplier change min pressures between quali and the race. That definitely worked this weekend to provide an awesome race.

With the Haas and FI DQ, Renault has a much better hold on 4th in the constructors. Hopefully they hold onto it. Both cars were quick this weekend, so hopefully they can keep up with that. Hulk takes a decent lead in F1.5 as well, which is good for him.
