Red Bull explains prerace repairs:

Glad they caught it in time.

Honda upgrade coming at Spa or Monza:

IF it truly raises them to MB's level, look out folks!

It was inevitable:
http://gptoday.com/full_story/view/6...rey_is_ousted/
What a dumbass.
Hopefully, Haas can get some of the money promised to them as per contract.

Not everyone at MB is happy with LH's Fastest Lap at Silverstone:
http://gptoday.com/full_story/view/6...absurd__Wolff/
Very understandable...it's only worth 1 pt.
However, it does prove a couple of things:
Hamilton is a Monster and MB is so far ahead in terms of performance as to be absurd.

Ferrari's weakness is tire wear:
http://gptoday.com/full_story/view/6...Achilles_Heel/
He should know.

Is Haas really ready to make driver changes?
http://gptoday.com/full_story/view/6...ussen_or_both/
Definitely NOT the best time, however will Haas bite the bullet anyway?
IMO, both should go.
It would mean, essentially, writing off the season.
I doubt very much they can toss new drivers into the cars and finish 4th at the end of the year.
This is the conundrum Steiner faces...

It would be good to see Grojean go IMO. He's just not consistent, despite HAAS' car issues. I would like to see MB let Ocon go to another team. He has a lot of promise still being so young and deserves a seat more than Grojean, Stroll, and Kubica....

Depending on William's cash position next year, I would bet there is only a 25% chance Ocon will be at Williams despite their ties to Mercedes when Kubica is given the ax. They might just pick up another pay driver....

It's hard for me to see Perez leaving Force India because of the money Carlos Slim brings. If Perez is leaving Force India, it's because he has a better deal somewhere else and he is the one driving it. Ocon didn't really outperform Perez when they were in the same car.

I would like to see Ocon vs Russell though in Williams and see who really deserves to step up and ultimately replace Hamtilton and or Bottas.

What about Alonso going to HAAS? My heart wants Rossi, but my brain says go after Alonso

Oh the silly season...

To address the elephant in the room, who should replace Vettel?

He is quick, but in high pressure situations, he's not the best of racer.

Max or Hamilton

Ferrari has had multiple champions under perform in their cars after Todt and Brawn moved on. I don't believe it is the driver and would love to see Seb back at Red Bull.

As to Vettel's penalty? What is FIA to do, set him out a race? That's what I want to see happen, but Ferrari wouldn't stand for it. BTW, did Vettel get any points on his license?

Good racing between Verstappen and LeClerc. Say what you will about why MV was back there, or the damage done to his car, but those two really put on a race for 3rd place.

Have a good one,
Mike

It's too early in the Silly Season for me to make any guesses about next year.
I'll wait for the summer break before going out on a limb.

Also, this would give the FIAsco to test and study different versions of the parts and get global feedback. Teams would thest for free!!!

Speaking of tires. you could allow lower teams one step softer for instance?

Qualifying tires - hell yes! Show the cars on the ragged edge!

You are wrong when you think that Toto Wolfe was upset about Hamilton trying for fastest lap on the hard tyres after 32 laps; he wasn’t. You’ve just interpreted “absurd” to mean stupid, when Wolfe was really using it in the sense that the feat was ‘amazing’, etc.

Reread the article; especially James Allison’s comments and you’ll understand what team management was referring to.

The way I see it, they can either pick up someone from one of the midfield teams with experience, Checo/Hulk/Mags/similar, or they can put a Ferrari Academy driver in the car. I don't think anyone will be lured to the clownshoes from Merc or Red Bull, and I doubt they'll go the young driver route, as Chuck is still pretty green, so they'll probably want experience. It'll be interesting to see, for sure.

Neither are dumb enough to follow Vettel/Alonso/the rest of history to the clownshoes. Ferrari's best hope, IMO, is LeClerc. Find whatever he needs to get the most out of the car/team, and give it to him. Vettel is done, IMO, and should probably retire at the end of the year.

The most interesting behind-the-scenes fiasco of the year IMO.

Interesting article on Rich there!
Especially the pic of Grosjean on his bike. It was sad, but immediately after that photo was taken, he crashed it...
