Default Help me choose an awesome style for my numbers

Hello everyone!

I'm an autocross newbie who will be running my first official event in January. I went out for the SCCA Cal Club practice in December and got hooked.

I'll be decking out my Lemans Blue C6 vert with 949 NOV AS (or should it be AS NOV? or NOVAS or NOV-AS?). I want the numbers to look awesome and cool and really race car-like, but graphic design is not my thing.

Can you please throw out some recommendations on color, font, shadowing (or not), etc? Example pics would be much appreciated.

Here's my car:

Thanks for your help.

I buy a roll of contact paper at target and then find cool race car number fonts on google images. I blow them up and use them as stencils. Viola, endless cool numbers for $5

Dafont website has a tremendous amount of free fonts. My vinyl cutter can use any TTF windows font, and dafont is where I send people

Outlines and/or shadows can add a lot to your design as well.

Thanks. How do I arrange the letters? I'll be in Novice - A Street.

In a line with a space:

NOV AS
AS NOV

In a line without a space:

NOVAS
ASNOV

Vertically stacked:
NOV
AS

AS
NOV

Or... ?

Beautiful car!! Welcome to Cal Club. You're in a great group.

I like the Impact font.

NOV AS ### or ### NOV AS is the proper sequence of letters and numbers but you can stack them as well. A bunch of people use a 11x14 sheet of paper and print the numbers on their home printer. The proper size numbers will just make it.

I used a Corvette font but had to stretch it taller to make it work.
I've since gone with a Corvette 66 but a big bold CAM-S (not pictured)

Why the CAM-SL and CAM-S? Just use a piece of tape to block out the L...

I wasn't aware there was a ladies class in CAM, is that a regional thing?

I race at 3 different regions. 2 lump CAM S/N/T into just flat out CAM, and one will actually bump my wife to SL. They actually gave me flak that they couldn't read numbers or some sh*t so I just cut out all the drama and put them both and put a piece of tape over the one that's not driving.
I've since changed it to just be CAM-S, if they wanna bump her to CAM-SL then they can do it in their software. Now I've got a giant 66, and I put a 1 in front of it.

I cut vinyl on the side so I just cut whatever I want and switch it around if I'm feeling like I need something fresh.

Firestormgraphix.com. ~$57 for 10" numbers. I only run HPDE's so these might not work for you. Use code PRERUSHSALE to save 15% off.

I've learned to never ask strangers on the internet to design something for you.
