Default Video from my first time at COTA.

What an amazing track and car. Ran 5 sessions 2 in the wet and 3 in the dry. Best was 2:21 in the dry. I KNOW it has a 2:20 in it, and probably a 2:19 after watching the video.

Mods are cold air, carbotech pads, R7s.

Car ran great and hauled *** for a daily driver. Only casualties were the brake piston seals (normal), brembo red has become brembo maroon and one of the brake pad tension clips folded from heat. The other was fine so I think it was a fluke. Airbag light came on during the last sessions. I have an appnt with dealer for the roof squeak so ill have them take a look at it too.

Ran right at the TT1 track record with my daily driver in street trim/ mostly stock minus tires/brake pads. C7Z is a beast.

Hi Jordon,
I seem to remember you from the F-Body forum several years ago (you were selling your F-body drag racer to fund your Kart career). Your drive at CoTA was, in my opinion an excellent drive.......especially considering that it was your first ever at CoTA and 5 sessions with only 3 dry!!! Your understanding of "the line" and use of the curbs in turns 3,4,5,6,7,8 is outstanding Congratulations!!! Your time racing GoKarts has certainly helped make you into an outstanding Corvette driver.

Garrett-
Same person and I remember you as well! Thanks for the kind words. Although my first time at COTA I am fortunate to have quite a few years of experience racing. Although I loved my Fbody selling it to pursue a racing career was one of the best moves I have made.

Very few people I am familiar with understand the aggressive use of the curbs at CoTA, and the "line" necessary to correctly apex the very slow turn 15 without running off. You also stayed on track in turns 19 and 20, where most people take a very "wide" line indeed. Apex Driving Academy founder Keith Verges has said "You must lap under 2:30 to be able to say that you are driving quickly at CoTA". You have succeeded admirably.

Nice runs for your first time out! I was there in the grey 720S in the purple group, and I wasn't any faster than you! Good job.

I'm guessing 720S on street tires? The OP was moving...

Saw your 720, beautiful car. I would like a 570, but I think I would be scared to leave the garage with it :-p

If it helps here is my alignment:

-.5mm ea side toe F and R
stock F caster (didnt measure)
+.8 R Caster
-2.5* Camber F
-1.8* Camber R

Tire wear was about .004 more on the inside edges on the rears, so pretty good.

FL was even, FR was about .025 more on the outside. I would bump the camber to 2.9*

Note this is for WEAR not performance. if I was racing I would want to see a LOT more inner tire wear than outer.

Car was overall well balanced, little push at high speed but rotated good at low speed.

I would probably take a little aero out of the back (lower spoiler) and stiffen the front bar (if it was adjustable) to help the car off the corners.

I can pick up a .5 to 1 second in the S's, and a few tenths in turn 1 for sure. I was pretty tentative over the curbs as the car obviously had less grip and could be upset pretty quickly. I probably only got 8-9 laps the whole day "clear" through the S's, and I wanted to take small chunks and just just barrrel off into them. Car did get big twitch entering 3 around 7:32 or so, so I wasn't ***** footin!

Fantastic driving! To date, I have only driven parade laps at COTA, one day I'll get out for a DE. Good to see you around. I had the opportunity to take a C7Z around at Spring Mountain for a few days....indeed it is a beast

I thought the name looked familiar. I wasn't very active on the F-body list but I read a lot when I had my '95 Z/28.

Fantastic Driving, I hope to improve to get a little closer to your lap times (mines upper 2:20s). I would only ask that you not press so close. I was pointing to my rearview mirror letting you know I saw you but apparently you couldn't see the acknowledgment. I was trying to get by the Porsche. (Black 2011 C6 ). Anyway great driving and hope to get some pointers from you the next time at the track. Cheers Joe

Joe, your car seems really fast on the straightaway how much power does that thing make?

And yes the c7z and the driving of it was impressive.
