Another racing Icon passed today
Joyce Newton, wife of Bob Newton, founders of Hoosier Racing Tire, passed away at the age of 85 this morning.
She is the reason Hoosier's colors are Purple. There was a time when Hoosier sold a hat on their website that was just black and white with a purple stripe. It was the best selling product on the website. She made them take it off and redesign it because it didn't have enough purple in it.
