Default Crankcase Vacuum pumps

Anyone on the list running a vacuum pump?
As in a crankcase vacuum pump.

As you know I'm running a supercharger.

I'm still fighting oil seal leaks.

Putting PVC valves back into the system cured my leakage issues when not under boost, but the second I hit boost the leakage starts.

It may help but only if the vac pump can over come the crankcase pressure. You may want to look into a daily or are dry sump system as you will be halfway there for cost. You could also do a #12 line from each valve cover to a breather tank to let the engine vent.

I ran a gz pump, it required some tuning, and i abandoned the project befor i got real in to it. But i was able to get the crankcase to -10 hg. I was having a bad blow by issue and was attempting to use the pump to fix it. I later just pulled the motor and had it re honed.

right I should see if it's actually blowby or an intake pressure leak

I suppose I could pull the valve covers back off all the rocks so all the intake valve are closed and see it I can pressurize it.

Brian,

Is the piston and cylinder bore original to the car or was your motor built? So often your story is repeated with great leakdown and compression numbers. It even happen to me with 3% leak on a new broken-in motor. This is blowing oil! Being Blown just makes it worse! Builders can't find a smoking gun or just are not looking. If I were going to get to the bottom of this I would start by making a test head to do a leakdown on the short block. I'm betting despite best practices...ovalization of the cylinders.

It's a built engine
Lunati Crank SCAT pistons & Rods, AFR heads.

BTW even with a lumpy custom blower cam it still pulls 14in of vacuum at idle.

No smoke out the exhaust
