Default C7 Grand Sport: which rear pad is good to pair with ST43's in the front?

As title states, which ST pad is good to go along with the ST43s used in the front for HPDE days? These are being used on the OEM MPSS for now but will be changing to stickier tires once they are worn out. I've heard the ST41s are good to help get negate some of the rear brake bias, is this true?

Thanks

I love the Raybestos ST pads. But I use the ST43's in the back and ST47's in the front. Good balance and very good stopping power.

I was wondering if ST47s are too much pad if I am not on R comps?

I would not run a more aggressive pad in the rear. Try running ST43s in the rear as well.

Do you have thermographic paint on the rotors? Do you have temperature decals on the calipers? Heat is a huge factor in pad selection.

Raybestos would suggest the -47's are very aggressive so pretty much slicks only and higher heat.

Oh thats right, ST41s are more aggressive than 43s. I forgot that they didnt go in order on those.

Ya I guess I can go 43s all around. I use 43s on my Evo and like them a lot. No I am on the oem Grand Sport Rotors, so no paint. No decals on the calipers either. I don't want anything crazy aggressive since I am not going to a full on R comp. Will go to a 100tw tire like an NT01 after the MPSS are done.

The ST47 is a very aggressive pad. I agree with DPARM above--start with matching pads. God forbid you find yourself in the rain with 43s front and 47s rear. I run the ST47s all around on 315 slicks, love them.

Ya i hear ya man. I think im gonna do that, start with 43s all around. Should be decent for MPSS and NT01's for now.

I would still consider getting the paint and decals. Knowing brake temps is very useful for pad selection and even for understanding how to adjust your technique.

The decals are like 10 for $50, and the paint is about $80. Maybe you can split it with someone since you likely won't need the whole thing.

The paint is expensive, so at the very least, get the decals (I think they're like 10 for $50).
Any suggestions on where to get the decals?

I run R888's and I would think the 01's are about the same, ST47's work very well on the front with ST43's on the rear.

Has anyone tried the ST45's? Was thinking possibly 45s front and 43 rear.

I just put 43's on my gs with mpss and its much more pad then i need on the street with no heat in them. If they don't loose some bite at temp i will probably try a 42 next set, assuming these last ok and don't destroy the rotors. I have only ever run carbo xp 8 10 12 and these have way more friction. I can modulate them into abs more easily then i like. It is pretty easy to over stab them and get into abs on the street, will see how it goes with everything up to temp though.

in theory per the document 42 would be the rear pad if you want a lower friction pad. On my c5z I ran different carbos front rear and the same and it didnt seem to make any difference. With a little toe in the rear stays in line, without its all over the place.
