Default Best AutoX Tire/Wheel for C6Z06

So I may be tired of running 2-3 seconds slower than competition with better tires. I currently run my street stock setup of MPSS 285/345 on OEM wheels.

Open to all suggestions except don't want to run Hoosier/slicks.

Willing to change wheel size from stock as long as sizes don't mess with AH and preferably allow car to run in Competition mode.

Thanks

DH

Hoosier A7's with:
18x11 315's
18x12 or 13 with 345's.

Call it a day.

Oh just read...lol...I suck. Look, anything less than A7's and you are at a disadvantage IMO. There are some good street R-Comp options, but you will lose everytime to the A7 boys.

Guys at my track seem to really like the BFG Rivals.

for street tires of 200tw, nothing beats the re71r's.. Unfortunately the re71r's dont make a tire wider than 305 in 19". So the C7s guys have been running a 19" square setup in the Street class, 19x10 F and 19x12 rear with the RE71Rs 305/30/19s.

If you run CAM-S class, you can run 18s with BFG rivals with 335's in the rear.

I guess the question I would ask is do you want to be competitive in your local scene for top overall times regardless of class or do you want to be class competitive?

Rival S's work well, but you have to run 18" wheels front and back back to get 335/30/18s in the rear. They only make 275/35, 315/30 and 335/30s in 18's.

Best wheel/tire for C6Z not going to Hoosiers are the BFG Rivals, in the 18" size front and back, 275 in front, 335 in back. In the autocross Street classes you will be limited to the 18x9.5 wheel in front, 18x12 wheel in back. Forgestar makes a good wheel for the money. If the RE71 came in the wider sizes, I would go that way, but the Rivals are a darn good tire in a 200TW class (the limit for A-Street class in SCCA). Yes, you can go CAM-S, but you open up a crater of a money pit, but it is a fun class. Really all depends on what club and class you choose to play in.

So I am considering wheels of 11 inch front and 12 or 13 rear in 18 diameter. Rivals in 315 and 335 sizes.

Since I don't want to be switching wheels any more this would be my daily drive as well as auto setup. The question is now will I have AH issues? I am hearing that unless you turn all the nannies off there will be problems and I son't think its save to drive on street that way.

Also, is there any rubbing problems to worry about?

I run 305/30/19 sq on my C7 for autox and also run them on the streets with all the nannies on with no problems. I've run them during autox with nannies on as well and havent had any issues. So I would think that as long as the diameter is the same as in my case or slightly bigger in the rear you will be ok.

Thanks for the feed back.
I know guys that have had no AH issues on their C5 but then did have problems with their C6. So who knows how C7 compares.
And I know your setup works great on AutoX as there was a C7 running that same setup with best times of the day. But the tires/wheel setup looks too small in the wheel well to me .... an esthetic consideration.

My front to back split is nearly 1" taller in the rear and I have never had a AH problem. I think the later years 2009+ have less issues than the earlier, but I have no data to back that.
