2009 c6 z06-track wheel and tire options
Hello
I have a 2009 z06 that is my daily driver and track car in the summer. The car modded with pfadt coli over, willwood brakes, caravaggio daytona seats and 6 point harnesses, and top end and cam done by AHP with about 620 HP.Kohle has been great at AHP.
I currently have stock 18-19 spyder rims with Michelin super sport tires in 275-35/18 and 325/30-19 sizes.I am thinking of upgrading toa dedicated rim and tire just for the track and getting my self a tire trailer to bring the tires and rims to the track.I have done the aviad tank and pan baffle and vented MMS catch can.
Can someone help with rim and tire ideas please?
Also looking for aero ideas
So far my times at the following tracks have been:
Mosport 1:35
Calebogie 2;28
Shannonville 2:06.
Thanks guys.

May not be what your looking for but I just put a set of NT01 on stock Z06 wheels in stock sizes. Just driving them the 90 miles to the track when its not raining.

I run 19/20 satin black cup wheels on my 08 Z with Michelin Cup2 ZP tires. These give me confidence for the 80 mile drive to the track. I like the performance of this set up at the track. I figure if track tires ever become unavailable for the 19/20 set up then I can get street tires for the 19/20 wheels and get track tires for my 18/19 street set up. Picture of the car with the track set up.

I run 18's (better selection of tires and also cheaper tires) and I like the balance of the car. Forgestar F14's on R888's for a long time when I was driving back/forth to the track.

An option is CCW C10 18x11" front and 18"x13" rear wheels. Track tires that are readily available from a number of race teams/tire companies are Hoosier A7 or R7 315/30ZR18 front and 345/35ZR18 rear. There are Pirelli, Continental, Michelin, etc. slick/dot options as well. This is a combination that a lot of guys run on the C6Z06 and C7.

CCW C14 Wheels
I have been using CCW C14 wheels (similar to C10) on my dedicated track car for over three years. 18 x 11 front and 18 x 13 rear. Lots of tire options to fit these wheels.

Melting Slicks
I have a similar set up on my '09 Z. Also have Daytona seats. Currently run stock wheel sizes with R7's. Have your seats started creaking yet?

What size tires are you running on these rims? I currently have a spare set of factory rims that I wanted to look into running racing slicks but haven't found anything in 19" rims that are used.

Do you have a mod list you can post or message me? Interested in your car's build specs. Sick rims, looking at CCW currently for 18s all around for my c6z. Will become a track car in a year or 2.

I have been using CCW C14 18x10 and 18x12 wheels for six years on my c6z on road courses (Laguna, Sears, Thunderhill) with Hoosier R7's, then Kumho 710's. I would use a small trailer to bring tires and tools to the track but got tired of constantly changing wheels/tires, especially at the end of a long day in hot weather. I then started running Toyo R888 which I could drive to the track.......gave up a couple of seconds in lap time, but overall they seem to last. Now I am using their newer R888R tires.
The big issue is in fitting a hitch to the C6Z.....with the bi-modal exhaust there is not much room. Plus, I did not want to cut or drill into the car. I ended up having a shop fab a custom design using factory mount points; there may be better commercial solutions by now, and thus much cheaper.
Depending on where you (OP) live, you may want to check out my trailer.
