Default Little Brake Upgrade to C5 Z06

The left front tire has been going into ABS on hard braking at the track. The brake pedal is getting soft and it takes a longer stroke to slow down and the front pads are showing some taper. I decided to change out the rotors for a new pair of Centrix high carbon rotors and replace the C5 front calipers with a pair of C6 calipers. However, Ken at KNS brakes had the DBA two-piece rotors on sale (magic words). Installed speed bleeders in the freshly re-built calipers and the new rotors last night. C6 calipers are stiffer and take more abuse before they start to spread so hopefully this will prove to be an upgrade to the stock brakes. Pictures below.

You'll like the longevity you get from the DBA rotors. As for the C6 calipers helping that long pedal feel, I doubt it since it didn't in my case.

the rotors are great but also second the notion of the pedal feel as I have the C6 Z51 stuff on my C5Z BUT they do seem to hold up a tad better from fade

Agreed, I was a big fan of the DBA4000 one pc rotors from KNS before I moved to the AP kit

Cannot beat the customer service and knowledge at KNS! Ken is a great guy to talk to. The DBA rotors are also top notch and what I use. I get all my stuff from Ken as well.

The C6 caliper is slightly more robust, but will have you worrying about the same issues soon. The only solution is a proper fixed caliper that does not flex like the OE floaters. I have had C4, C5, C6 and now fixed 4 piston Brembo on my C4 race car throughout the years. The Brembos have the best pedal feel of them all, and no pad taper.

Are those 2pc. full floating? The long/soft pedal feel may be the result of pad knock back. The complete cure would be better wheel bearings (SKF), full floating rotors and fixed calipers, usually completely eliminates all pedal problems.
