Default New crackpipe acquired

Since selling my T1 Corvette a few years ago I’ve been away from racing until a couple months ago. Spent thre last ~year getting my fathers 66 big block AP Corvette back to track ready and we finally raced it in October and then again a couple weeks ago (kinda..bad fuel from previous weekend wrecked the fuel cell so we didn’t get passed the 1st practice session).

At that point this deal was already done, just waiting on delivery. So, on to a actual racecar- the new P1/STU/vintage 2 liter+ Elan DP02 powered by Mazda MZR. About 1200lbs dry weight and ~300hp without restrictor (30mm required with SCCA) and Hewlitt sequential with paddle shift. Should be fun

Oh definitely. I started racing Formula Fords and I always drove my T-1 car as a momentum car. So fortunately I have a decent start to the driving style required, but aero will be all new to me and will require a drastic leap in comfort and faith

Doubt I could ever fit in one of those at 6' 3", but I've always heard once you go "real race car" you never go back to a production based 2 seater "GT" type sports car.

6’3 200 here, it’s no problem in these cars. Some cars like the older WSC cars, you’re right- no way we’re fitting. These have a lot of room all things considering. There’s a guy in TX who used to run one who was tall and near the 300lbs mark from what I’ve been told. I guess he was a bit of a squeeze but still fit

One Motorsports brought one of these to the Spring Mountain Invitational last weekend and it was much faster than everything else out there...until it spun. You are going to have a great time with that monster!

The DP-02 is a front running P1 car. It is seriously fast.

A little nervous about this part, so 2019 is going to be about seat time and learning these east coast tracks. All I know at this point is I have to be doing 1:00 at Roebling to be at the pointy end, fastest I’ve lapped Roebling to date is a 1:26 in the vintage vette lol

So this is a serious race car...are you racing it with others in a class with similar cars??? or doing track events with crazies in street cars.

lol both. I need seat time to get up to speed in the car to race competitively with SCCA P1 and NASA Super Unlimited as well as vintage groups. So 2019 will be a mix of events to get the seat time needed
