I see some talk about wet driving. If you do it regularly you owe it to yourself to try the Hoosier Wets. It's not even fair. They are like magic.

I have the GTLM Michelin wets now that I was thinking of trying. No way they fit on a Corvette unless you have modified the inner fender wells. They look like giant knobby tires or something.

Hey Boss just gonna throw this out there, have you taken any brake rotor temps to see if the car has to much rear brake or if one of the rear calipers is hanging up a bit? Maybe this would solve your loose in problem.

Thanks for the suggestion. The small toe change seems to have fixed it.

Awesome that you went with the Akrapovic
A little more high end power, a little lighter, and a sweet sound.

I decided to throw the car on the scales one more time before I drop it off for the cage. Just to recap, this is the config:
  • 2019 Corvette GS M7 1LT w/ PDR
  • Full fuel tank
  • 18" Forgeline wheels and Pirelli DH scrubs.
  • Akrapovic axle-back exhaust
  • Added ZR1 rear wing bracing and spoiler but not rear wing (yet)
  • Removed parking brake assembly including actuator and cables.
  • Removed washer fluid and pump
  • Removed 1 factor GT seat, still had one in it.
  • Removed all carpet and plastic trim except:
    • Full dash
    • Center console
    • door panels and glass

That's not bad at all.

Do you think that +46 lbs of weight on the right front corner is the Drysump tank? Also any reason as to why there is +30lbs in the left rear? I assumed with the battery being on the passenger size the additional weight would be there.

Looks to me like the right front wheel is carrying too much of the weight. Raising the right rear should transfer some of that weight from the right front to the right rear and get closer to a 50/50 front to rear distribution and a 60/50 side to side distribution.

It's pretty clear that he didn't put the car on the scales to corner balance it. It's about to get a cage installed, other safety equipment, probably an engine swap, it's full of fuel and he wasn't sitting in it. He put it on the scales to get a reference point of the base total weight prior to his next set of changes. Corner balance will come much later.

Looking good so far Sean.

Thanks Mordeth. Yes this was just to establish a baseline weight. I also didnt do anything to settle the suspension which would affect corner weights.

It makes sense now. I assumed the car was settled and the above corner weights were indicator of baseline balance.

Poorsha, are you going to use E85 or a blend with the Katech motor? If so, put the kit on now and you’ll have Moar Powa😂
A guy that runs at PBIR added e85 to his GS and it killed off the dead spot when shifting into 4th gear. Also, if you have enough fuel delivery capacity you’ll pickup some nice area under the curve when you put the Katech motor in.

Thanks for the suggestion but none of the tracks I go to have E85 and I'm not willing to pay for 100 octane so this motor needs to run on 93.

I've been running the 98 ethanol free but it's over 9. I got the 100 octane tune trying to sort out some issues but I think the 2015 supercharger was the whole problem.

Just a couple more work in progress pics from last week. We're kind of in a holding pattern because as I was warned the roof frame really gets in the way of the bar you run forward. You really need a roof like Katech sells to get the bar next to your head up and over. Hopefully it will be here next week as I'm trying to hit an event May 22/23 and still need to put the stage 3 splitter and wing on.

Damn Sean, that car is going to be insane.

Great job!

Any idea as to the amount of hours invested so far?

I guess it's a better use of time than online gambling.

I didn't really keep track of my time and I have a rough idea of what the cage is going to cost but I'd rather not post it. Piper does great work though and it's nice having them close by drop in and out for test sittings.

I looked on Katech’s website for the roof you’re referring to but couldn’t find it. Is there a link you can share please?
