Here are some other pics I took along the way. I had a bit of a setback after I realized the brake line I replaced was still leaking so I took it to Piper Motorsports and they've got it all fixed up. I'm heading to Spring Mountain tomorrow for the ZR1 owner's class. Thursday morning I plan on picking the car up from Piper, taking it to DSC to check the alignment, and then a quick 500 mile oil change and off to Summit Point next weekend.

Makes me want a C7 GS instead of a C7Z. Except in my old age I want an auto.

I love the mods done! Hopefully the Katech 427 works for you.

Was the hose leaking caliper side or hard line side? Bad flare from the factory or over tightened factory? Asking because I haven't done hoses on my C7 yet and have heard stories of way over tightened fittings crushing the bubble flare so it only seals the first time.

The hard line was leaking. I cross threaded the RR hard line so I just replaced it. Then it was leaking where the new and old hard lines connect. All self inflicted.

Sean when I pulled mine apart the hard line threads were crossed on my left front wheel. I know I didn't do it because I never could start the damn thing. I pulled the hard line off and bought a die and chased the threads and it worked fine. I think when they screw the steel line into the brass fittings crossed that they can get a good seal, once, and not totally ruin the threads. When I put the stainless lines on that's when I ran into trouble. You probably didn't cross thread it. It probably was done at the factory.

I counted and this was the 6th time I've replaced the soft lines on a C7 and it was the first time I've had a problem. This one has been a real bugger though.

The forecast just keeps improving. The latest is low 60s and sun for Sunday/Monday. Hopefully it ends better than the last time I was behind the wheel of a ZR1

Thanks so much.
Here is what I have on my track set of 18's.

Toyo R888R sizes:
Front 315/30-18 on 18x11
Rear 335/30-18 on 18x12

Fronts rub slightly at full lock. Otherwise no issues.

Is the heat wrap on the tie rod ends and ball joints your recipe (and if so what is it? ) or what brand is that? Looks more robust than the usual stuff.

3 questions
-What do you do with cooling from the engine, you need deep water temp
-I see you stay with the original chassis, no coilover
-Sway bars, remains original? I've been looking for a better product for the racetrack for a long timeHave fun with your two vehicles

I plan to be there for the Audi event April 9/10 but I won't have the motor work done yet.

That's a product called heat sleeve that I first heard about on this forum back when I had my 2008 C6Z. I then put some of the aluminum foil tape around it to create a heat reflective surface. Here's a thread on it and I ended up buying the 1.5 ID from Pegasus Racing.

Thanks, I've been following your posts for many years.

Cooling - the GS already has the secondary radiator in it like the Z06 and I'll be removing the air conditioner so that won't be blocking flow to the main radiator. There also isn't an intercooler blocking flow to the mian radiator like the Z06 so I think this should be more than adequate for ~700HP NA motor. We're also going to be adding the Katech external oil cooler when they do the work. My biggest concern is transmission temps as those were an issue on both the Z06 and ZR1. I'm hoping the RPM polishing and treatment will help with that but I might be looking for other options.

Suspension - I really like the DSC Sport controller and dynamic damping. You can't beat a suspension that can respond in real time to the car inputs and with the Tractive DDA shocks we have a real race quality shock package that you can still further tune the shim stacks and such. The FE6 springs are definitely too soft so I went with the FE7 springs. I'm hoping these aren't too stiff with the lighter GS but we will see. The Tractive shocks are threaded for spring perches but there are fitment issues on the C7. If we find out the spring rates are really off then perhaps we will look in to a way to make the coilover springs fit.

Sway bars - Yes I'm staying with the FE6/FE7 bars and FE7 bushings. They were designed to work with the FE7 package and I haven't found a reason to change them so long as the springs are right. Right now I think I can tune the car the way I like it with the shock controller. It seems like the Stingray needs them because of soft springs, what are you finding?

@Poor Sha

Thank you Dirt for your answers

Cooling: I'll give you the TIP, your Wassertemp should be a maximum of 85-90 during a race or trackday, you'll see, your engine lives long and you always have optimal performance.

I have on my green Z06 and on my new white the Bilstein MDS 2 GT3 Coilover with Race spring rate

The optimalway bars I have not found yet
I will also test the FE7 once

On my C5 I used DEI Cool tape.

On my C7 there are factory heat shields in place, but OP may have removed his for his specific brake setup.

Would you mind telling us\me what the silver circles are behind the grill in your white Vette? I have something similar for oil cooling.
