No it hasn't sold out in years...even after they've removed 30k seats or more...(they don't tell you that) Bristol was the toughest ticket to get foe decades and now you can get good seats at either
race on race day at the ticket booth...
Nascar screwed the loyal fans for the snowflakes and millennials and the attention span for them is about 5 seconds...The loyal fans took their money and went home.
Thankfully we still have good racing on dirt.

Beats watching basketball......
Take twenty factory new, American made, stock vehicles and race for 500 miles.
Draw the drivers out of a hat to determine who races what car.

I haven't watch NASCAR since jr quite, but when senior got killed, I lost interest. Thank goodness sprint cars are around. I go to Knoxville all the time. That's racing, fast and quick.

Used to be a day when "Stock Cars" were really basically stock ... The brand of car you rooted to win was more important than who the driver was ... It was called "Brand Loyalty" back then ... Now I guess it's just "Driver Loyalty".
Now days they don't use the same engines that come from the factory ... not the same body ... not the same suspension ... and the list goes on.
Jeeeze ... Look at the NASCAR Camry ... When the hell did Toyota ever make a 2-door Camry ???
The NASCAR Camry packs a 5.9L pushrod V8 engine ... When the hell did Toyota ever offer a V8 engine like this from anything you can buy at a Toyota dealership ???
I call this whole NASCAR racing just BULLSHIT !

This is what Stock Car Racing used to look like .... and it was done with a slightly modified car you could buy at the dealership
As they used to say ..... "Win on Sunday; Sell on Monday"

I was at one time a big NASCAR fan, but I lost interest after Dale Sr died. I will stick with sports car racing. I don't even watch the 24 Hours of Daytona as I see that as a glorified NASCAR event.

Real racing is stock cars on dirt with trees as catch fences. Rally kicks butt.
Other than occasionally bringing in a couple NASCAR drivers, something that a) didn't really happen this year, and b) they also do with nearly every other top motorsports series because most haven't started yet and the drivers have the time, how exactly is IMSA and the 24H of Daytona glorified NASCAR?

And I spent the better part of two decades cheering for the guy in the big orange home improvement car, before I'm accused of being a Johnson fan.

Jonson clearly misjudged the space he left or the amount of movement that the 21 would have once he shoved the air into the wheelwell and over the spoiler. It was a mistake, he didn't intentionally do it, but nonetheless he miscalculated.
He also miscalculated on the last turn of the Roval. I'm starting to wonder if the pressure of not performing to the level that he had previously set has been causing errors in judgement that are atypical of his usual standard.
Turbo6TA ford didn't make a 2 door fusion. chevy didn't make a 2 door Impala ss. the fusion didn't come with a v8. and you put in a picture of Smokey Yunick;s 7/8 scale chevelle which was almost immediately declared illegal. you sure as hell were not going to buy that on Monday.
Truth is, if you're waiting for a "stock" car to run at Daytona or Charlotte or Dover for 500 miles you're going to be long dead before it happens again.

Oh and by the way, Dale Earnhardt drove a Chevy Lumina and then a Monte Carlo. Both of which were front wheel drive and v6. So the point about the Camry not having a v8? I don't get the point.

******* move....it called racing not follow the leader. Johnson backed off a few car lengths, got some help. and got a run on Menard. Menard tried to block, but Johnson's fender was already at Menard's rear tire. Menard should have held his line.

The LAST and I do mean "last time" I went to Charlotte I had indoor seat yea yea the pricey ones and had to have a wrist band. Whenever I went to walk around someone would stop me and say "hey you cant be here, this is not your spot" . Ya can't walk down by the fence. If I want to watch a race I'll turn on the TV and is doesn't cost me any money.

I guess if "follow the leader" is your idea of racing, yes, it was an asshat move.
Its the problem all sports are having now, not just racing. If you want to actually watch the event, sitting at home watching TV gives you a considerably better experience than being there.
If I go to a road course, I get to see all of about 3% of the action. If I am sitting at home, I can see the entire course. Just an example, I was at the Indy race last year in Detroit when Reuss plowed the ZR1 pace car into the wall, took us on the front stretch a good 25 minutes to find out. Even then it was cause I texted my buddy who was, wait for it, watching on TV, had this been 20 years ago in the pre-cell phone day, it is possible I'd have never known til the papers came out the next day.
